If you build your other three party members to survive and work well together on their own without micromanagement, then you can be whatever class and specialization sounds most fun to you.

I am currently in my head, my health bar is fully red and I probably have like 1 HP left, and I have no health potions.

SOMEONE HELP ME.

EDIT: Managed. Barely. Someone suggested doing all the quests on the minimum level. The max. here is seven and I'm level seven so I have no clue how someone would be able to do it at level 4.

That's it. I'm waiting until I'm level twelve or something before doing Champions of the Just. Too hard.

I still haven't played Jaws of Hakkon, but that just sounds wrong.. I mean, "gonna cry myself to sleep because I can't rage any harder" wrong.
I'm just waiting for the day when they will reintroduce silence abilities from DA2. THOSE are mage killers, Knight Enchanter or not :D

What's not right? (I mean this as a question, not as an accusation.)  Are you waiting for it on your platform or is there something about it that's offensive?  If it's just that it's not out yet, it's going to be OK, although it's annoying.  I find it a lot of fun and it adds a lot to the lore.  There's some really cool combat and awesome loot and materials.  It's definitely worth exploring, if nothing else, for the gorgeous scenery.  You will get it soon and, believe it or not, your current game really doesn't need to be put on hold until it comes out.  If there's something about the deviation from the chantry/elven mythos/stone/Qun thing, why not?  The Avaar were doing their animistic thing in Fallow Mire and it didn't bring the world to an end.

Enemies and situations are a little different, and challenging, even if you know what to expect.  That's totally OK.  The magic is a little different, as is the combat.  That is really cool, and both combat and navigation will be easier if you play.  My favorite warrior spec is templar, and the rift mage's firestorm ability would probably be a real asset.

In story quests, the enemies scale based on your level. So t2 gear + level 4 is stronger (relative to enemy level) than t2 gear + level 7.

Also, for quests like Champions of the Just, the fight has much easier mechanics when scaled to a lower level. The envy demon is basically immune to all CC if it's scaled to a higher level, but can be CC'd if it's near the bottom end of the range.

On the other hand, since their defense AND offense depends on barriers, any enemy with Barrier Breaker completely cripples them. Oh, the sweet sweet KE tears when Jaws of Hakkon first came out. :D

Hunh... my first playthrough on JoH was with a KE and I never noticed this "Barrier Breaker" ability from enemies.

It could be I just never noticed...

So far Nightmare doesn't seem as hard as it does tedious.

Inquisition on Nightmare can become a cakewalk once you know what you're doing and use the tac-cam to micromanage as needed.

JOH on the other hand, will beat you up and take your lunch money if you're not careful. To the point where I've started to use Mark of the Rift as my opening move in most battles with the Hakkonites, because if I don't take out the Archers immediately, they'll rip my barrier, guard and health to pieces.

It depends so much on your play style. I don't play rogues well. **** with them really. So a rogue in my hands would be just hot garbage. For me it's a KE and then champion in turn. A champion is better at soloing dragons but a KE clears out mobs faster.

I don't even use a rogue in my party frankly. I'm that bad with them.

Some enemies just do a lot of damage in one burst (esp. archers and rogues). CC and guardian spirit becomes more important as does strategic use of Fade Cloak.

Exactly.  My nightmare KE run through JOH used Static Cage, Fade Cloak, Guardian Spirit and Wall of Fire (on my companion mages) heavily.  In fact my team was three mages and one rogue though JOH.  Fade Cloak is awesome as it gets rid of poison which can be annoying on the way to big fights consuming potions if you aren't careful.  Fade Cloak is also great to recover from being knocked down or to avoid those 360 hammer swings.  It is also great right after Guardian Spirit triggers since you can be sure you won't die while attempting to quaff a potion.

My next nightmare run will stockpile enhanced static cage rings for when we get to JOH.  I had none on my last playthrough.

Barrier Breaker is an actual ability, you can see it in the tooltip for some Hakkonites. And also when your barriered allies suddenly take a buttload of damage (that's usually when I notice the tooltip, anyway). :D

They did mention that enemies have different abilities based on difficulty level, so it's possible that Casual/Normal/Hard Hakkonites don't have the ability. It's pretty brutal, even for my mostly-rogue party.
