Is anyone else unable to text chat in multiplayer?  I had no idea it was even possible until I saw someone doing it today.  Under multiplayer bindings the only things I have available are...

Spectate Previous Player

Spectate Next Player

 

I bought the game on black Friday last year from ea.com digitally if that somehow makes a difference.  Other places I see online say to press "t" to text chat but I don't have that option anywhere.

This is for PC btw.  I forgot to add that to the title.

There is no text chat.

Which, all things considered, is a good thing.

You need a mod that gives you access to the console. It's a console command /say whateverthehellyoufeellike

It's not very useful cause text is kinda hard to notice and disappears after 2 seconds.

My mic has never worked, and it's actually somewhat useful in lobbies for one.

 

Having some means of communication is better than none.

 

Also lets me say hello to the occasional BSNer I run into Pugging.

I actually searched the forums and binged that same phrase and didn't get good results which is why I posted.  That's what I get for trying to be different and not use google I suppose.

Using my ME3 Mod Manager installing the WV Bypass (under one of the menus) you can access the game console with ~ or tab. Then you write "say WHATEVER" and it will print WHATEVER on the screen. You must unlock the console to do this.

That's what I have (works for PC/360/PS3). Only problem, after a month it's being held together by duct tape, two white socks that are now yellow colour, 4 Canadian dimes, some cardboard wedge, 1 twist tie. Supported by some a few pairs of double AA rechargeable batteries (which last a day's gaming).
