They're worth it, I'd say. A great reference, and thoroughly entertaining (uh, provided you like DA, ofc ).

And WoT2 corrects a lot of the timeline problems WoT had, which is nice.

If you are into the lore, then definitely get them.  I love Vol 1, and 2 is looking to be enjoyable too.   There seems to be new info on the companions in Volume 2 as well.

They put the [the entire?] Chant of Light in volume 2. I agree, there's TOO much Andraste rabble in that book. Pretty disappointed they didn't further explore much else.

While I still recommend getting them, most of the information in the first is now on the wiki and it won't be long before the new book's information is on there too.

Nah, I recall it being said that it would take days or something to recite the entire Chant of Light.  So it isn't the whole thing.   30 pages is alot though.

It mentions that he was in a polyamorous relationship with Rinna and Taliesen and that he went to Ferelden seeking suicide-by-Warden bc he didn't want to live anymore. Also, his father was apparently killed by the Crows, which of course led to his mother selling herself to pay off his debts...

I've heard that Loghain's wife's name has changed from Celia to Maeve.

 

And it says Marethari’s predecessor died in 8:82 Blessed which would make a Dalish warden about 50 as their father is the Keeper before Marathari.
