Purple bow and a trash purple 9th lvl something or other.. Just need shield and staff now, but doubt I'll use them. I don't even get excited about a purple card anymore, lately it's all been low level garbage and runes. I pretend my alchemist drops runes now instead of mines... I may need to seek professional help.

I jinxed myself. I was all excited that I would be getting the dagger, greatsword, or maul. And then I realized...I don't have the shield. The shield could drop, and it did. I basically got myself a virtual paper weight out of the guaranteed dragon weapon chest, so that's awesome ;

All those getting the Maul really should feel extremely lucky and rewarded. I've only gotten one in all my dragon kills. Many duplicates of all the others items.

 

Damage varies by quite a bit on the maul too. The strong ones can have +10 damage over the weak ones.

A bit being 3% difference at most. Not signifigant for Reavers, Katari, or Avvar pumping out gobs and gobs of overkill damage.

yeah... i got one too... considering all my characters have had ilvl 18+ weapons on them for weeks, it was a giant let down.  Especially after farming perilous dragons all last night with nothing to show for it.

I suggest giving out another victory chest, this time with a guranteed 24 unique, to make up for the super unlucky people getting rare and also uhm... reasons that are good

The item you got was relative to your itemscore which is based on how many total items you've received in MP (both chests and treasure room items).

I'm pretty sure that purples were supposed to be guaranteed for everyone who didn't have every top tier dragon weapon. If some people who don't have every one didn't get one in their chest, then I have to ask, what was the point of the secondary community objective? If it's just going to be another regular chest, then there really is no sufficient reason for effort to be forth to perform a task like that which was given to us with this latest event.

I just started less than a week ago, I received a blue item, however I have been saving gold and bought a chest and received a purple Lady Jocasta"s Revenge, I was hoping for a bow or staff. But I thought I read somewhere a purple would drop if the weekend event was a success. Now if I could just get a friggin ruin for my staff:)

So basically you set it up to reward the people who needed the items less....... Bit of backwards reasoning there. Yes, instead of throwing the newer or less fortunate players a bone let's slant the special reward in favor of everyone who's less likely to need it. The RNG is just so discouraging in this game. I'm fortunate enough to be in the middle of the loot scale. I get a good rare I don't already have just often enough to encourage me to keep playing. Some of my friends never get any high level rares, though, while other friends on my list pull a high level rare from almost every single game either via the store or a treasure room chest. This level of RNG just kills the game for a lot of people. Bioware got RNG right the first time with ME3 and somehow managed to completely botch it with DA:I. Fortunately the RNG loot system is my only complaint with multiplayer.

So because i havn't played as much as other people, and yet no lifed the **** out of this event because of the promise of a purple dragon weapon, i don't even have a chance at getting a purple because i've not opened as many chests?  What about the people who started playing because of this event and the promise of a good weap?

The idea was that you would get a good weapon relative to what you should theoretically be fighting. If you're in a situation where you're not at this item level but you're killing Perilous Dragons (and not being carried by teammates) then I've likely made an error with the distribution values.

Yeah, i've been Tanking Perilous Storm dragons on my arcane warrior since 2 weeks ago or so.  I run them pretty often with my group and I typically take top or near top int he exp rankings/contribution rankings for the run.  So yeah, i wouldn't consider myself being carried by anyone.   I've upgraded my armor as far as it can go, and using a fairly decent staff.  As well as having a reaver at lvl 20, with Dread Reaver (Dragonbone) armor, that i crafted myself, not found in a chest, and a Greatsword of the Dragon that i got from a perilous run.  

 

Those are the two characters i main, and while i may not have all of my characters up to that level, i would say that your distribution values are in error....

 

I don't mean to be rude, but i'm very frustrated, cause i busted my butt helping get these dragons, downing 3 perilous dragons last night (as well as usually 1-2 every night during the week), and running threatening dragons constantly whenever my group of friends isn't on.  And then to get an ilvl 14 longsword of the dragon when it was insinuated that everyone would get a purple ilvl 24 weapon... was kinda a huge disapointment.
