Curious to gauge how the community feel MP will last. At this current rate, I can't see myself playing for too much longer. I still enjoy it at the moment, but the loot system is classic delayed reinforcement deployed in games like Diablo. The only reason I play is to get good loot (and to have fun of course). I know I won't get a purple every game, but knowing I could get one at some point keeps me and a lot of others going.

 

Wondering how many people feel bigger changes are needed in the future to keep it entertaining. New characters are great, but the same maps and game modes still are generic.

 

How long do you think it will last at this rate, especially with games like the Witcher 3 coming out. (Not b**ching, love the community and and all, just curious)

Can't see it beating ME3, doesn't have the same charm to overshadow the nonsense.

I don't have Witcher 3 to worry about though, nothing to play it on for a while.

I can play other games along with this one, i already dedicate 2h daily to either Bloodborne or GTA5, then 4 to DAMP. if witcher 3 comes up and other games, it will fall during the 2h time.

 

I always take Fun-MP game over any SP game.

I guess I'm weird because I don't actually care about the loot that much. I like putting together builds and playing with friends; loot is just the icing.

Nowdays, can't stand to play for more than an hour in a row. Is simply boring.

 

And can't wait for The Witcher 3.

Playing with friends is still fun, but I can no longer grind PUGS for gold, XP and gear. The RNG Store does indeed give more Purple Cards, but I am seeing a constant rotation of Level 8-11 Uniques and Runes that are worthless to me at this stage of the game.

I went back and started playing the ME games. Just finished ME1 and started ME2; truly a gamers work-of-art.

Threads like this used to be common back in January and February. Some peeps told me to leave DAMP to play Evolve, since DAMP had no future and the devs were about to pull the plug. Now we see things turned out quite differently.

This game will last longer than you think,be patient because they are working with a new game engine.

if its still going with the amount of content it has there is a dedicated player base and they won't give up on it.  3 maps nothing.  These people will be playing this game a year from now. Bet that.  If they haven't left it by now then I don't think they will.  We should be happy for them that the enjoy it that much.

the devs might think:

other games' single players are for 25 hours
and they don't even have a multiplayer.

"where is written that WE have to provide fun for 1000 hours?? "

someone here who has played 2000 hours complained and said that Hardcore players like him simply deserve a fourth difficulty level!

why??

as much as I would love more content for 2000 more hours, I am just trying to think economically.

players like him don't buy with platinum.

I play for fun with friends.  

 

I enjoy PUGs when friends are not online as it's a different kind of challenge.  There still seems to be an influx of new players to PS4 that you can help through the castle/dragon.

 

Sure the loot is great but it's not the main reason I play.  You can complete Perilous without the best weapons in the game but it is nice to have a go at collecting them all as a side interest.

 

I will be playing until 2016 at least.... probably when I will get 170/170/170 because that is my goal.  Currently at 25/72/66 so it's going to be a while...

No plans to stop at the moment, but only been MP'ing for a month or so, hour or 2 each night. Things that keep me playing:

 

-Promotions mean something. I never got into ME3 SP so this is a plus.

-Dev involvement on boards and regular game tweaks. 

-Great forums/community

How long will it last? It all depends on how fast Bioware will release the future MP DLC's. If the next DLC is release in 6 months its dead. I think the cycle should be 1-2 months. Almost all of my Origin friends who started playing DAMP with me left and never came back. ME3 MP had a faster DLC release cycle and it was a real success.

DAMP is fun, but I will agree with others that it still doesn't posses the same charm that MEMP has.

 

New characters like Zither are most welcome, and I absolutely love the fact that BioWare is willing to add completely new mechanics and powers to the game instead of just re-skinning a model and moving some existing powers around (one of the things I disliked about MEMP). Now if we could get some truly unique characters that go above and beyond what is currently in the game (playable Mabari I'm looking at you) then we could defiantly spice up the game.

 

New maps and game modes would also help, the High Dragon fights are a great addition, but maybe something a little less dungeon crawl in future updates.

 

 

I am excited for the Witcher 3 as well, mostly because it means that CD Project Red can finally shift the majority of it's attention to Cyberpunk 2077. A sic-fi, dystopian setting, done by CD Project…. with multiplayer <drools>
