Mirandalorians
Mirandalorians
I wouldn't be surprised if they were still here under new names, its not easy to get away from here.
When the Talifans went too far their thread was nuked and forbidden for months.
When the Miranda fans went too far the entire section was nuked.
Of course this has nothing to do with the Messiah. I'm sure he would have a HEROIC reason for all of this. After all he is a mastery designer/writer/physicist/ect.
Even Casey Hudson called Miranda "simple" once. Maybe he should stalk him too.
Yeah. To me, in-game Miranda is really not very compelling as a character. I do like her, but more for the general concept behind her and for the ideas in my head(canon) than what we ever actually got in the games. Hell, to date, the most interesting material on her comes from the comics.

We ain't going nowhere and you know why?
Because we have nowhere else to be.

I think the reason is because she does have so much potential to be good, and what exists is good, but they don't really take her character and run with it. In ME2, they define her more against how people perceive her and how she interacts with other characters than on her own with the 3-4 conversations you can have with her. In ME3, she's largely left underdeveloped, and is given a complete rehash of her loyalty mission. I think a lot of people had issues with that, since they didn't go anywhere interesting with her. In general, this was the broad treatment of just about every ME2 squadmate.

I always thought Miranda/Jacob should have been on the team or been given larger roles considering they worked for Cerberus which had become a menace in ME3, but they pretty much got reduced to a cameo appearance while Garrus & Tali were once again given big roles & squad mate status when they didn't deserve it. As much hate as Liara gets, she at least had legitimate reasons for being there besides "some fans are obsessed with her so lets bring her back even if it doesn't make that much sense"
I like Garrus and Tali, but it's still pandering.
I miss translating some of Qistina's posts into proper English. Some of her posts had decent thought processed behind them, but they were brought down because English was her second language.

Wasn't that the girl who kept complaining that Bioware were insulting muslims & islam in general, especially the DA games? im sure that was the main reason she hated the Qunari for some reason i don't really care enough to remember
Any reason to hate the Qunari is fine by me. Even the insane ones. ![]()

It wouldn't bother me so much normally, but it annoyed me that Bioware forced me to accept Garrus as Shep's BFF no matter what, especially if given the racist renegade responses in ME1
You don't get it? Some fellows are so good, even if you insulted them greatly once, they are still your BFF!

It's because John Dombrow assumed control. And he was just a fan like anyone else, before joining the team. You can't trust a fanboy with writing a character like that.
Well, in all honesty, it is a rather derisive moniker. I mean, look at Brotarian's description of Mandalorians in the Star Wars universe, and look at how he portrays them.
It's really not meant to be flattering.
Don't think I'm getting on your case here. I'm just trying to give you perspective on why someone wouldn't like being called that.

Yep, even though I like Garrus.
I noticed a trend; it seems BioWare is moving away from fantastic racist PC dialogue options. It's a shame as Renegade Shep had some of the best racist comments toward Asari, Turians, Krogan, and Salarians.
It is a bit unfair ill admit. Picked more for how well it rolls off the tounge. But tali fans already had a name, talimancers. And I don't think talizorlorians has as good a ring to it. Tali'zorhan vong maybe with some tweaking. But still, talimancer served az the label for the extreme and annoying. It was only a matter of time before Miranda fans got a label as well. I wonder if thane or garrus fans could have gotten one. I vaguely remember some annoyance from tbs former and disturbing artwork from the later regarding hybrid babies.

Talimancer is a bit more neutral though. Mirandamancer, Thanemancer, etc.
I call people who are nutty Tali fans just that. Talifans. Collectively, I call them the Talifan. That's meant to be insulting towards the nutjob ones.
Thanelicker (They came up with it), Talifan...
I still don't see why we Miranda fans get the absolute worst portrayal of the romance fan-groups. Having been involved with the issues myself (you could say I was one of the stronger personalities and heavily involved in the 'war'), I can tell you that our problems had almost nothing to do with Miranda more than they did each other. There was a distinct ideological divide between two groups of people there. It had more to do with the ending and political philosophy than Miranda. Granted, the infighting was pretty bad, but as I've said, the fighting simply had little to do with Miranda so much as users not being able to stand each other. If anything, the issue came down to one dude: Taboo-xx. That guy was bound and determined to make the forums burn.
We never went as far as the Thanelickers who threatened developers with violence over Thane's (lack of) content in ME3. We didn't talk about Miranda's sexual organs (sans her viability to have children in the future) like the Thanelickers did (Twisler penis anyone?) We didn't do Tali sweat or Turian/Human hybrid children. We never had to be feared by the developers to the point where we intimidated them into bringing Tali back as a full squadmate in ME3 as one of the several (admittedly stronger) reasons she was brought back. We really weren't that atrocious and deranged.
We had strong personalities that came to a head over one individual poster who was more or less out to set the forum on fire for shits and giggles. The worst actual thing about the Miranda fan-group was Luis and his... well... Luis. And to be honest, he's calmed down a lot. Can you still **** with him and set him off? Yeah. But what's the point? He keeps to himself now, and keeps his problems to a minimum. If he actually calmed down and got the help he needed, I applaud him for it.
It's probably because unless you were a character and romance peruser, you didn't know of this nuance. You had to hear about it second hand from all the fleeing members of those boards when the lock came, all pointing their fingers at the miranda fans getting the entire forum section locked.
Doesn't really matter anymore, I suppose. I think most of not all of the mancers have more or less abandoned the cause by now. Either after the final piece of content with the Citadel DLC, or simply because they moved on to other games with characters to obssess over, like dragon age. *shudders*
I am almost curious, how many of the old mass effect mancers are currently inhabiting the dragon age forums. Fearful, really. I don't want to see a qunari sweat analysis or an indepth discussion on the mating habits of interspecies sex. Though I suppose with the current atmosphere of those boards, the more pressing questions for those users might be if you can use magic to let a man give birth, or use bloodmagic to preform gender reassignment.
[shudders intensify]

... Thanelicker?
... Thanelicker?
Yep.
It comes from an old theory on the Thane thread that licking a Drell would cause orgasmic hallucinations (i.e. FemShep licking Thane).
Don't look at me though, I'm just the messenger.
They were pretty freaky. Nice people though. Except for the whole 'threatening a developer with violence thing'.
... Thanelicker?
Drell licker.
And no, I wasn't one of them....
