A couple of questions about Specializations

 

As my first specialization for my mage i took Spiritual healer and i got a heal spell. I know i need to unlock spiritual healer but when i do what do i gain when i do unlock it.

 

I am probably going to take Arcane Warrior as my second specialization. Do i need to delay the quest to unlock it until i have chosen it. Or would if be already be unlocked when i do choose it if i do the quest first.

Apart from access to the spells, SH gives a permanent bonus of +2 magic and 0.25/0.5 health regeneration once selected as a specialization. Unlocking the spec simply means that you can select that as a spec for your eligible mage pc's from that point onwards extending to any future playthroughs. There's no other reward as it is for unlocking a spec.

You don't have to delay the quest. If you do it earlier, then at level 14 you'll have arcane warrior as an option to select. If you do it later than level 14 though, just make sure you don't pick any other specialization at level 14; just keep the point unallocated.

..and once you have unlocked a specialization it is immediately available in future playthroughs
