I think it's a great weapon. It's my krolord's go to weapon and I will stagger the **** out of phantoms and move in for the kill by smashing them into a bloody puddle with the hammer.

Kroguards Choice!
Release charged shot during biotic charge, follow up with a short burst on arrival and deal with the rest by headbutting or related MRAAAW!-activities.

GPS is one of my favourite shotguns. Good weight/dps ratio, enough ammo, excellent range... it's my favourite weapon for the GI.
It's a lame sounding Graal that can't headshot. Even the weight is the same.
Krogan flaming knife launcher> toaster tennis ball cannon unless you're a scumbag geth hunter who can fire it while you're frozen.

It's my main weapon on the Krogan shaman for lore reasons. The graal is the same for a lot of weapons and kits outside of my mainstays, I have a ton of fun when I'm using it, but when I'm scrolling through everything deciding what to play I don't stop when I get to it because it doesn't jump out at me. Not sure why since I have a blast when I'm using it (on host of course).

First time I ever rolled a QFE I gave her a Graal, only because it was the gun I had given Tali in SP. I was expecting it to be a quirky, inefficient but tolerably amusing setup.
It was glorious. She's never looked back.

Hardly misunderstood, it's just that about 3/4 of players can't use it reliably.
It's not that bad off host most of the time though to me anyways with a stunning power.

As I almost never host I almost never use the graal. The lag delay makes it's accuracy iffy even on uncharged fire for me and having 2 out of 3 shots harmlessly phase through enemies or soaked through lagDR makes it lackluster for me. On host it's a beast I will admit

I like it, but the lack of penetration really kills it from being an everyday weapon for me.

As much as a loved it in SP, I rarely host so it's more annoying than fun, plus me being a console scrub, I really don't want to LOLaim, so killing Guardians is a pain.

Well, I wouldn't know about that, I host 99% of the matches I play in
edit: and I avoid using projectile guns like plague if I'm off-host. The host might be in a country next to mine but there's still a very good chance there'll be unreasonable lag.

Stardusk was trying to get people to use the Graal back in 2012 around the time when half the people thought the GPS was the best gun in the game.

I like the GPS a lot better than the graal. It seems to hit harder, more easily, and stagger better almost all the time. Plus it has a few more shots per clip, which is always nice.

It's a proper gun. I'm not sure I've ever used any other weapon on my Krogan Soldier (main a/c, anyway, apart from the Striker, very rarely) because of lore. Same for the Adept although I did use the Talon on him once.
I almost never host, so it's obviously not that big an issue. If I'm at range I'll use Carnage followed by a charged headshot, but I never plan on staying at range for too long as the main attraction of the Graal (apart from lore) is that the Omniblade is a 'free' choice for one of the mod slots. It's suitably vicious for Batarians, too, and I'd take it over the GPS every time unless I have Geth weapon bonuses because of the headshots. I don't play the Talon Engineer anymore but it's a pretty logical choice for how his mechanics work.

It does like 100 more base damage on charged shots but doesn't get that delicious 3.0x headshot multiplier (or headshots at all) and fires slower. Other than that they feel pretty similar to me, apart from the fact that the graal sounds awesome and the toaster gun sounds like its just finished making pop tarts. They both stagger mooks almost every time when animation cheating isn't involved, but the graal seems to be better at staggering bosses because a headshot will cause a bigger damage spike (esp vs crabs).
GPS was hilariously OP in ME2 though.

Off-host, GPS >>>> Graal. On host, the Graal is better, although the GPS is still a little easier to use. FWIW though, the GPS can shoot 3 charged shots per clip, same as the Graal. And the Graal's charge time is shorter than the GPS.

Let's not forget that it shoots ****** spikes. I feel I should point that out.
Because if you're fighting a war do you want to kill something with an electrical tennis ball launcher (or whatever the **** QMR called the toaster shotgun) or do you want it's head and/or genitals filled with spikes?

I enjoy the Graal... as mentioned though, sometimes it sucks depending on connection to the host.
Coolest thing about it though, is it actually shoots SPIKES. Seeing them sticking out of a banshee's forehead amuses me, so it is good.

Now I want a gun that shoots tennis balls with spikes sticking out of them. And with an Inferno nade for the filling.
Here's hoping for ME4. Biovar, plox.

If the GPS melted things as they screamed like the Reegar does, than it would be way more worth using. Otherwise, I feel like I'm shooting space zombies with one of these.
lame. Nowhere near a gun that sounds like Zeus's farts and fires flaming swords that make things explode into melon chunks.
