Okay, so I just got to the point where my next story quest is "In Your Heart Shall Burn". Reading the description for it on the war table, it sounds like this is the end of the game already. Without revealing spoilers, please tell me there's more to go. The game can't be this short, can it?
This can't be the final quest already, is it?

uh...no
Alright, good. I only wondered because the description says something along the lines of "finish the battle once and for all". Thanks for the quick response!

You are only about half way.

Oh, wow. You're at the point where you discover just how large the game truly is.
Enjoy the quest, and try not to get overwhelmed afterward. Slow and steady!

This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. It is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.
Or the beginning of the end of the beginning of the end.

The last quest will say THIS IS THE LAST MISSION in the quest description.

Seriously?
It has a note under the in-universe description, saying that it starts the endgame, and that some content will become unavailable.

Lol it's only just beginning. ![]()
It felt like a giant prologue to me after the final scene happened to complete the quest.

Just beware that this mission yanks you out of the rest of the world, changes the play rules enough to make you feel lost for a while, and you need to get through it all before returning to the open world. Don't jump in until you're ready for the long haul.

It's the best mission (in terms of story) in the game so enjoy it, OP.

I knew that it wasn't the end of the game because I knew all the regions in the game before I played and I'd only explored 4 of them before this mission. I also knew that we would end up at SH for the main part of the game and hadn't even seen it yet.

OP you're in for a treat, that's a really unique and interesting mission. And while you're about halfway through the main sequence quests, the back half is packed with waaaaaaaaaaaay more stuff than the front half. So content-wise I'd say you're 1/3 to 1/4 of the way through, depending on your completionist tendencies.
