Yeah, reconsidering that statement. I'd say he's on par with Elementalist or Keeper that have good Barrier builds.
Honest, though... Focusing on Barrier ignores like 98% of the awesome stuff Zither can do!
NBD. We're still in agreement. ZITHER!!!!!

Gear means nothing when you get bishotted, man.
When I play the Avaar, without full barrier, I'm completely useless, even if I got health regen and such, I'm dead before I can use it. While with a babysitter, I even managed to got a 30-40 killstreaks. As you can see, the difference with Zither full barrier and without him, is kinda obvious - with low promoted chars.
So yes, for low promoted parties, full Barrier Zither is the best choice to avoid wipe. We are not talking here about how to "be faster".
I dunno, I have had a lot of success with running keeper and Virtuoso together Keeper handles the barrier and virtuoso does buffs, attacks and spot barrier. Its way more effective than just spamming the barrier song, plus the keeper brings static cage. Probably more fun too, but I can't judge what people find fun.
My ideal team (If I really thought about it) would probably be:
Any 2h warrior (for mad dps)
Archer (MoD on dragon)
Keeper (Barrier/ Static Cage)
Zither (for mad buffs)
no bella shame on you Texas ![]()
4 Zithers would drop a dragon in 5 seconds.
yea but 4 Zithers would take 4 hours to complete the run in a slideshow!
So are Tree Buckets really that useful? Lately they seem to be doing more harm than good in pug games I have been in. Some players are very ardent at telling the group to go get the Tree Bucket primed. Miss Dragon usually uses a breath weapon on the left hand one as a person is winding it. As the match goes on players are running over to wind and prime them as the little dragons are munching on them.
I would rather just ignore the things, make sure everyone gets to the dragon asap when it lands and all be in a good spot to pick off the mini dragons.

I doubt there is consensus, but it actually seemed the board is more in favor of just using ranged DPS units to hit the dragon. That is of course assuming you aren't in a party with 0 ranged DPS.
In pugs they are usually just a way to eliminate one player per wave. Also a decent way to get the dragon to go into wing flap routine, which is irritating.
