I am hoping he stays far away from the Gears of War series.

Despite how bad the ending might have been and despite how little many of your "choices" mattered. I would much rather have Mass Effect than not have it. ME2 is one of my favorite games ever and I also love what they did with the MP in ME3. I find it very good. Up until the end I think ME3 is a good game as well.

I would much rather have Mass 1 and Mass 2 and forget Mass 3 ever happened.
I SINCERELY hope to GOD AND ALL THINGS GAMING that Casey learned something from Mass 3 and won't ever do something so...
Man I still want my money back.

You're right. He deserves better than that.

ME3's multiplayer is only good because of the gameplay. I don't know how much it changed over the years but it was a poor man's Horde Mode starting out.

Sure, but I'm not sold on how much Casey was the creative mind behind the beloved elements of ME. IMO, there were other writers (who I won't name, in the interest of not being a douche) that created a lot of the best parts of the series. In fact, as much as he gets lambasted for his story work, Mac Walters is a really strong character writer (e.g. the best bro of all time, Garrus).

I could actually do just with ME1. ME2 and 3 were by no means bad games in my opinion, but none of them really captured the magic like ME1 did and I'm not just talking the novelty factor. ME1 had that sense of exploration, of wonder and the unknown, it was sci-fi opera in all the good ways. ME2 and 3 largely didn't exapnd on the universe as much as they possibly could, they lost the flair, plus most of the game design choices went into the generic sci-fi blockbuster that simply lacked in unique character.
It's strange really, because the actual gameplay improved drastically with each game, yet the story and ambience took a plunge with each successor.
I really, really hope that MEN can recapture the essence that makes ME1 such a great game and pair it with ME3'ish gameplay.
If it doesn't, BioWare will be off my list of favourable developers ... meaning I can pretty much scrap the list entirely as BioWare really is the only one left on that list, but after DAI turning out as almost the anti-thesis to what I like most about Dragon Age and a bad MEN would really be the end of it.
... I want Jade Empire 2 already, damnit.
As for the actual topic at hand, I wish Hudson all the best and hope he has a good time.

I wish EA just sold that off and Rocksteady picked it up. The combat possibilities if a studio like them got their hands on that IP... ![]()

Guys, stop it with the Gears talk or we'll end up having to choose whether to control the new Locust Queen, kill her, or become Locust hybrids ourselves in the next game.

Nah we should be safe. It's not like Mass Effect has ever handwaved decisions away and brought back species that have di- oh... sh*t.

That, and the most prominent loose end in the series right now is a certain female having been kidnapped by a certain part of the COG (Onyx Guard I assume), which I suspect will turn out to be some Cerberus-like rogue faction after the main war.

So a former member of the Halo team is working on Mass Effect 4 whilst Casey Hudson works on the next Halo game.
Sounds like a swap to me.
