My big Witcher 3 collectors edition box is sitting there, taunting me.... cmon Skadi..... open me....... don't you want to see the thrilling conclusion to this glorious masterpiece of a trillogy? But I cannot open it until I finish my playthrough of the first 2 games and I am only up to chapter 4 in the first game.

Does anyone know what carries over from your Witcher 2 save (and to a lesser extent witcher 1 state if anything) to 3? I take it a few choices will be carried over but how about things like weapons, armour and gold? How about if for some reason I decide to keep the blue stripes tattoo from Witcher 2, does that carry over?

I know for a fact that the tattoo does carry over. Don't know if any equipment will carry over like it did with Witcher 2.

There's no equipment carry over in 3.

I saved Triss and killed him.

On my second save however, I saved Anais and let him live.

I had Geralt kill Letho in my canon run.

Letho was responsible for all the death and mayhem that results from the assassination of the kings, had violated the Witcher code of neutrality in the worst way possible, and had left Geralt to be the fall guy in the murder of King Foltest. If not for Roche, Geralt would have had a date with the headsman. Too much harm had been done to both the people in the Northern Kingdoms and to Geralt personally for Letho to walk.

Also I love the drama of Letho and Geralt sharing vodka together before fighting to the death.

I though the code was more of a ruse invented by the Witchers (Geralt specifically) to give them a convenient excuse to excuse themselves from local conflicts and contracts they want no part of, rather than a strict code that must be adhered to by all Witchers?

Geralt's neutrality is not so much because he is forbidden from meddling in the realms politics but more because when you need to pick between 2 sides that both have reason to be pissed off yet neither can be absolved of a share of the blame who's side do you take? Sometimes getting involved just makes a bigger mess so it is best to walk away. It is also about a measure of self preservation, no point dying for a lost cause and there really isn't much that can be achieved by the death of 1 witcher.

It is basically how he survives the harsh world of the Witcher, with all the horrible atrocities committed around you if you let them all weigh on your conscience you are liable to go mad, stick your nose where it doesn't belong and try to solve all the world's problems and you are not going to last very long, sometimes it is better to just grow detached from the worlds problems.

Seems it does not matter either way, just started playing and it would seem that the save import only imports your last save and since you an't save the game after the decision to kill Letho I assume our paths will cross sooner or later in the Witcher 3.

But that being said I have yet to get very far but for some reason I can't help but feel a little disappointed for reasons I can't quite put my finger on (though one thing I can put my finger on is I absolutely despise MMO style leveling/exploration and equipment schemes, the Witcher series is one that can get away with a very minimalist character progression system and it doesn't really make much sense that Geralt who has a reputation for being a badass and a Witcher can get his arse whomped because he stumbled into an area where the common bandits, drowners and ghouls are 10 levels higher than him.).

Curious to hear other peoples opinions on this, While Witcher 3 has improved in many aspects and added quite a few improvements that will no doubt give the game a much broader appeal it also seems to have lost what made the previous game so special in the first place, wondering if anyone else feels either the same way or would tell me I am full of ****? How do you feel about Witcher 3? Were you a fan of the previous games and are you a fan of the 3rd? How does Witcher 3 compare to previous games in the series?

Read through the thread dedicated to said game, nothing short but praise and fond words for it -- Can't give an opinion myself, since I've not really started on it, but it doesn't seem like it's lost what made the previous games yet. If anything, some of its mechanics are more streamlined in terms of combat so that's something.. otherwise it seems overall promising.

Depends, how many spoilers can I expect to see? Personally been avoiding that thread.

They are generally all spoiler tagged.

Hmm.... may have been a little hasty, while it is obvious that the AAA industry has laid it's filthy claws on the series and influenced certain design decisions there are still moments where the series I know and love manages to flourish despite this, while there are certain design decisions I disagree with and a tad too much filler for my liking the game is still a pretty damn impressive piece of work that improves on many aspects of the originals.
