Good riddance. He single handedly ruined Mass Effect 3. It'll be good to see someone new and fresh at the helm of the ME franchise.

You hope.  It's easy to remember the ill feelings generated by the ending and many of the subsequent comments, but it doesn't negate all the positive gaming experiences he contributed over the years.  If we end up with Space Inquisition will we be satisfied with that?

The games made it seem like he was pretty keen on visors.

hahaha...No. Just no. Fancy words and harping on gamer entitlement does not make someones Pro Ender opinion more valid. If thats what it takes to prove your correctness. I counter with perhaps the best anti Ender video on the subject.

Is there a video I can link to in order to counter the entire ending subject itself in a thread that wasn't originally about the endings? :P

But in any case you should read it, is for your kind.

I did read it. His opinions of art are irrelevant to the discussion. You go to literally every poster who hates that ending and post that link as it it means anything. It does not. His opinion of what defines "art" which is in itself the most subjective thing in human history means literally nothing to me and many others. There are factual things wrong with the ending, as this video describes in detail. Getting on a soapbox about pushing someones opinions of art as a fact is frankly ridiculous.

Yet, your statements here are the same thing regarding opinion.

I also question anyone who says there are" factual" things wrong with a game that is make believe, especially when it comes to story and presentation, wholly subjective points of view. Not to mention its attempting to define something through science, waving it due to the lack of technobabble in the first ten minutes, which is kind of silly since most of Mass Effect never was fully "hard science" like that, nor was it talky-techy science.

But then again, nerds are determinist when it comes to such things, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised people are angry about nothing.

Singlehandedly?

Sad to see Casey get locked into a deal that is sure to be platform exclusive. I wish him the best though.

I would say that ending that forces next game to literally be set millions of light years away from original settings objectively and possibly even scientifically is bad.

I still think the hate towards Casey is less deserved than hate towards Mac. Casey did at least seem humble enough when asked about the endings after the controversy to not further tread on peoples toes or insult their intelligence whereas Mac came up with awful analogies to Breaking Bad and kept driving the "Shepard dies is why people are mad" narrative home every time he's been asked. He also joked about ME4 being impossible because it would "just be a giant barren wasteland" before ME3 came out.

I still believe that Mac is the guy who didn't understand what he was doing and Casey came up with the idea, but after the fact Casey realizes his mistake whereas Mac simply does not because he doesn't even want to read the criticisms through.

These are good points.

And for all the awfulness of ME3, Casey Hudson did bring us KOTOR.  It's worth thinking of him fondly for that at least.

He actually said that about post-ending DLC, which would be true no matter what at the end of ME3.  The galaxy has been thoroughly ravaged by the Reapers.

A lot of the Halo devs are returning to Microsoft and 343 from what I imagine. I just hope Casey stays as far away from Halo as possible.

why what's he gonna do?  make it any worse than it already is?

It's also important to note that he is the guy who took the initiative to make ME in the first place. Sure his idea of it was far-removed from what we got "Jack Bauer in space, plays like episodes of 24 but in space" (wtf?) but for all people keep saying Drew is the true mastermind, the fact of the matter is: No Casey Hudson = No Mass Effect 1, 2 or 3, or 4

Okay, I might've taken that a bit out of context then.

But really, this is why I just don't expect anything good when Mac is in charge (3:46 is when he talks about the ending):

Like, uuughh. I know he might just be bad at choosing his words but it sounds to me like he doesn't give a ****.

So is he gonna create and destroy something at the same time?
