In future DLC / patches, i would really like to see more reactivity from NPCs and general chitchat with companions.

I want people to think and say my inquisitor is crazy for covering himself in elemental alchemy, or for people in skyhold to say 'i saw the inquisitor in combat once. Fights with all the rage of a dragon.'

Would make for an enriching gameplay experience.

One thing bioware doesn't really employ tbh

They have some reactivity around this. Your fellow companions of the same class do say something. Iron Bull asked why my Champion wanted to "turtle up."

I'd personally want a better type of quest around getting it.

Yes, the specialisation quests were terrible! Which is a shame because the trainers are really well done. They deserve more than a lame fetch quest.

NO.  Try necro if you wish to get it.  You won't like it.

Edit: New keyboard with functional keys.

If you want to see companion reactivity at its fullest, take necromancer specialization.  The only companion who doesn't give you grief or outright disapproval is Cassandra.  With Blackwall, it's a full disapprove too, not just slight.  It wouldn't be so bad taking the MULTIPLE approval hits, yes, there's more than one for at least one companion (probably Sera), but I was so infuriated by not being warned ahead of time, I wasn't really paying attention to who was saying what.  The ideal time for a warning would be BEFORE I scouted the Exalted Plains, locking the level so low that by the time I finished dealing with Hawke, I wasn't even getting XP for some of the baddies.  If I'd been a KE or rift mage, I'd have everything I needed before I even got to Skyhold.  Then I'd be able to get access to more than one decent spell, have it available from the beginning, and have a usable focus talent.  Oh, and if you like a balanced party, the only mage companion who isn't insufferable is always going to be a duplication of talents.

I will never again waste my time choosing necromancy as a specialization.  I feel cheated of the time I spent developing the character, since except for walking bomb, the skill tree is only marginally less useful than the level 2 talent energy barrage.  I think players who choose necromancy need to be given the option to change their mind, or specialization.  And an apology.  I think an amulet or something from one of the shops, like that mystery shop in VR.  If the item (1 power, 1 perk, 1 level, isn't it) is worth 10000, I think 30000 would be fair.  If it was available, I'd buy it.

I would like a DLC to feature some specialization quest given by our trainers. If you are assassin then you go on a assassination mission. If you are a reaver you got a quest to slay a dragon. Champion defend a village or fight in a tournament. Necromancer some spirit stuff. Not asking for a DLC focused on it but for a one or two good quest focusing on our specialization that is apart of a bigger DLC, rewards can be some unique armor and weapons that fit the specialization

Generally speaking more dialog and independent and complex behavior do make be a better experience helping you feel immersed in the story, let's hope these tools "we helped develop" can be put to better use.  There are still quite a few things remaining to clear up for stability and reliability as yet and sometimes it seems a step forward one area is another back in another.

Some specs have a much better reactivity than others.
Knight enchanter, necromancer, reaver and templar are the ones with most reactions from companions.

Champion, Artificer and Tempest have very limited reactivity. Especially Tempest. Only bull says something about the complexity of the formulas are reminiscent but not the same as gaatlok, and how he wouldn't want his nipples burned.

And I like the idea of specific quests. I would love to see my dwarf enter a tourney as a champion for example.

Sal'roka, you keep coming up with some great ideas.  I agree with you 100%, and I think it would add a lot of depth to the roleplay.  :D

I wish your specialization actually was a quest, and not just "fetch 3 items" or "kill 3 dudes". Dorian did sound worried I was an assassin though, and was wary of me killing people in their sleep. Leliana approved highly on the other hand.

I got the same reactions on my dwarf archer.  I can't say I remember a lot of reaction when I became a Rift Mage though.  I'm playing a mage again at the moment, so I can let you know if I get any sort of real reaction.

Although I gotta hand it to BioWare; that was a pretty funny NPC.

Your trainer, Kihm and Ser.

Those were my favourite trainers.

My dwarf is to be a champion. I do like the quest in dueling other champions and getting them to yield. I believe the Reaver is similar too.

Just wish there was more reactions from my companions at least. If i remember correctly, i think champ gets responses from Iron bull, Sera and i think Gaspard?

Yep. I loved how I could talk with Gaspard about this. Was very disappointed that my tempest was almost completely ignored. Even Sera didn't have anything to say. You'd think setting yourself on fire would get more reactions than this.

There are 3 enemies that must be defeated to claim the items needed for specialization, for each specialty.  For many of the specialties, though, the items drop as random loot in the Hinterlands and Haven, specifically wisp essence and broken philters.  Many templars and KEs probably don't even know they're supposed to have to kill the baddies to get their specialty.  The specialization quests to get the specialties are supposed to be quests, but I guess it didn't work out that way because of a hiccup in the way loot dropped.  Those wartable operations are just tying a few loose ends.  If the quests to get the specialties were all as they're outlined in the strategy guide, you'd have your quests.  As it is, players had issues with loot drops and I think they decided that broken quests were better than unavailable specializations.  I wish they'd left necromancer unavailable.  It really is a complete waste of time, and I am very angry that I was deceived into thinking it wasn't.

Exactly!

I was surprised Sera didn't say anything too. I could imagine Blackwall or Cassandra saying im insane for doing what i do...just something.

Problem: this is a party-based combat system. Any quests you give the Inquisitor have to be done by the group. Do you envision Cassandra going on an assassination mission? Andwhat the hell are you gonna assign a Trapmaster or a Tempest?
