No one mentioned Leliana's battle cry. After a good fight, she shouts "ORLESIANS". I wonder why she did that. Something she picked up from Orlesian soldier/mercenaries I guess.
Leliana's accent?

there is Irish, British, French and other nationalities that move to other countries and live there for decades and they still have their native accents. There is no reason to think that Lelianna's accent would change in the time frame she has been in Fereldon.

I know why she has an accent. As a bard she knows that accents are attractive. She also likes to be special. So it's all an affectation. In Orlais she probably has a Fereldan accent (assuming Fereldan accents sound good to Orlesians). It's attention seeking.

I don't really care about her motivation for using it or it's justification for being that way... but it is undoubtably the sexiest accent I've ever heard in a game.. the strange mix of Austrailian, South African, French and Indian does very strange things to me.

Accents do not go away unless a person makes a conscious effort over a very long period to do so. My wife is from Uruguay and has lived in the US for more than 20 years and still has a very definitive spanish accent. It took me a while to figure out "do you have some Caesars."
With that said, as a bard Leliana would be able to speak without an accent. Just as good actors can do. Just look at Hugh Laurie from House - a very british accent in real life. But this also takes effort to do. Since Leliana has no reason to hide her Orlesian past, she just speaks in a way that feels naturally to her.

i dont really get the big issue. yes shes a bard, yes she could put on a fluent native ferelden accent to infiltrate somewhere if she needed. BUT thats her natural accent, you never see her need to use a fake accent, she tells everyone where shes from she has no reason to hide her accent.
i will admit though haha i do have a thing for the accent so keep it please

That depends on if she were expected to work outside the Orlais (the biggest nation in Thedas) and in Ferelden. It's possible that she can affect several Orlesian accents or a Navaren accent, but never learned the Ferelden one.
It’s even possible she doesn’t know any non-Orlesian accents. Or that the accents she knows might convince an Orlesian, but not a Ferelden. Look at http://www.youtube.c...?v=te_Nv3lMUnA' class='bbc_url' title='Lien externe' rel='nofollow external'>Dick van ****** in Mary Poppins: good actor, horrible accent, but the American audience accepted it as British.

I have to dispute that Dick Van ****** was a good actor. Popular maybe, but good? Definitely not. I understand what you're saying. I still think she would have been able to pull if off. If she's the master bard we are led to believe, then she would have had an affinity for mimicking sounds and voice. Do you not think?

I don’t think she’s Batman.
It’s possible she’s good with accents, and it’s possible she could affect a good Ferelden accent, but it’s also possible that’s not the case.
