Pls bare with me:)....still on the wrong side of the mp learning curve but getting there

I see posts talking of upgraded weapons, is there a list somewhere (that I can't seem to find) of what weapons are available and the stats?

These locked characters, I see I have to craft armor to unlock them, do you get a card in one of your chests that gives you the ability (assuming you have the necessary items) to craft and unlock the new character?

The store, does it give you items based on your hours of play/ranking?

Thanks folks

here is the link to the equipment-document - it lists all the weapons (and if they can be upgraded...) and more :)

https://docs.google....v7aWfhI/pubhtml

If you get the character-card in a chest, that character is unlocked. But you can unlock that character by crafting his/her armour - for that you need the necessary materials

the store - pure chance - some are lucky some others not so much -_-

Thank you very much!!! That spreadsheet is exactly what I was looking for.

So what you are saying is once I have acquired the materials, the armor card or ability to craft will show? Because when I go into armor crafting now, none of the armors for these new unlocked characters show.

you're very welcome :)

via armour crafting all the characters should actually show up ... maybe in red if you don't have enough materials to craft the armour but they should be there nonetheless

The character unlocks in chests consist of the basic armour of the respective character. Once it drops the character is unlocked. Additional "character cards" drop different versions of the character armour.

Crafting armours (or having them drop) unlocks new armour tiers eventually.

Regarding the "drop" chance of rares in the chests. There is an algorythm in play, that gives you a higher chance of loot as you open more chests.

From what I recall, we have not been provided the exact math behind it, other than Luke noting that the increased chance tops out at around 400 chests.

Luke is looking into changing this further for players with alot of playtime.

The character unlocks will be in your crafting menu, but they're divided by character. Look in the top left corner, should show the currently selected character and how to change which one you're looking at. I play with a controller, so for me it's the shoulder buttons.

At first, you'll only see the base level armor available for crafting even if you don't have the required materials.

Thanks everyone, wealth of information and greatly appreciated!

I noticed something with the store in Mass Effect and did it too often for it to be simple luck. I am semi retired and I throw a few bucks into the store as a small token of my appreciation for what the staff who made what I am playing have done. In ME I generally received better weapons or upgrades, I decided to give this store a try as I was getting junk (well to me) and I wanted to be able to hold my own in game, well I received the Longbow of the Griffon, that thing is insane and now the character I am using until I get something better for the others. Could be chance could be the way it's set up, cash yields better...no idea.

All the best

Good to see you in here Mustang I remember you from Me3 MP.  I don't think real money has any effect on the RNG.  The Griffon is a really good bow indeed.

I think Luke offhandedly mentioned in a thread that you always get the highest damage version of a weapon if you buy with platinum. So it has SOME effect :P

Hey buddy, I remember you also, quite a few here.

As I mentioned I only tried it once, however I am 99.9% certain it did in ME as I tried it many, many times and a group of us kept stats.

It's actually a lot lower than that. Luke said on twitch that the top tier opens up at ~1300 items looted. That's 260 large chests not counting items looted in treasure rooms. 260 chests is 312,000 gold. So its safe to say once you're around 300k spent you are in the top bucket now.
