On my new PS3 manifest, I've been playing more power focus then ever before because; weak lvl.1 weapon dps, weapons are way too heavy at lvl.1, no proper weapon mods, not enough comboing ammo, and so on. So yeah, where I previously banned Arc Nades on my main account, them 3 Arc Nades on my 46646 QME wreaks where otherwise I wouldn't.

Been focusing on character Reserve Packs when I got the cash for it (otherwise regular Specter Packs), and been playing more as kits I normally wouldn't play or haven't played enough of. First Flamer Vorcha handed to me was the Cluster Nade one. But I screwed up the build without another respec card dropping in ages. Eventually said I'm better off waiting for the VorchaSol drop card to fix this issue. That issue, I need speed evolution on Bloodlust (especially because I can't just keep slapping on super rare Adren Mods that are perfect for every kit out there). Especially since I'm used to the faster Vorcha Hunter speed.

So yeah, yesterday was the day I spent too much time with the Vorcha Sol like never before. And well, I know the Cluster Nade version is more popular because lol OP Flamer and now lol OP Cluster Nades too?! But what I want to know is are you guys sure the VorchaSent makes for the most enjoyable matches? I mean, no ammo box route schedule/ go where you please playstyle (and position is very important to a Flamer kit), way more fire explosions fun (because after you detonate with Carnage, your team mates may detonate your Carnage), Flamer>Carnage combos are just as quick as the nade version, Carnage is a nice range power while Clusters at range go where ever they want, Carnage homes VS Cluster nades need face aim for instant enemy stagger, you have to play more carefully when things go wrong VS Cluster Nade spam to solve all life's problems, and... that's all I can think of right now. Share you thoughts, and don't forget to detonate my Carnage in pug land.

The problem is that Vorcha suck balls as a race as a whole IMO outside the noble engineer. The movement speed sucks for the Vorcha (outside the engineer who is faster), they're pretty much one button spammed whether it's Soldier or Sentinel. Carnage sucks dirty butt because it's CD is so retardly long that it restricts flamer usage if you utilize it and if you use a heavy loadout you know like a Soldier should be able to it restricts it even further. The Sentinel is a decent character if you enjoy flamer spam and FEs with CGs, the soldier is a decent character if you enjoy spamming one ****** button a whole match. Both suck donkey balls on Plat IMO.

The Sentinel is more powerful because he can get killstreaks with those Cluster nades - even I've managed to do it, especially with the Venom - charge Venom, run in to spawn, lick everything with flame, toss 2 nades, run away and admire the killfeed.

But the Soldier is one of my kits of choice for pugging because I put the CSMG on him and I don't care about ammo boxes or grenade users in the lobby, and he doesn't even need good equipment (whereas the Sentinel does need top level equipment to shine). Put on Expert package and some incendiary or Disruptor ammo and he's good to go. I used the Soldier a lot when I was poor and had low level gear on my Xbox account, and I never cared what kind of lobby I found myself in, I was ready to flame and claw and scream my way through as many enemies as possible :)

You could say that about 80% of classes, platinum was badly designed.

This is what I ran yesterday (hey, GNR "Yesteday" is playing in the background too ); http://kalence.drupa.....H32172!DDF55G And 3.33 Carnage cooldown seemed fine to me for non-stop fire explosions. ... Sad you never see pugs spec into his Carnage.

Carnage: Cooldown is too long and enemies dodge it. The impact radius evolution is hardly worth it.

I'm kinda surprised by so much negativity, and I only recognise the 'one button spam' issue among inexperienced pugs.  The only struggle I have with the Soldier in particular is choosing what build to go for to make the most of his versatility.  I want to go full melee in every conceivable way, but I usually have to compromise somewhere.  Either way, Flamer is usually only tapped to cause stagger.  He's a tremendously fun character to play, and thanks to marksmad I tried the BPP on him and loved it, despite no melee boost.  All the Vorchas are mental cases who make me laugh while I'm playing.

I don't play all that much Plat, but the Sentinel with Venom is the easiest of easy modes.

How can enemies dodge it at face blank when it matters with a natural 1m radius? Plus you could always make the radius 1.5m too.

And again with the long cooldown? You just do a quick Flamer burst just to prime, maybe a dodge cancel, to instant Carnage. Shoot your gun for 3 seconds and repeat. This kits is a constant fire explosion combo machine.

I was thinking melee too. But I better wait for better consumables/mods.

Vorcha are not very fast, they are not very tanky, they are really dependent on killing as fast as possible to survive (and on objective waves you don't want to do that) and that stupid howling animation can play at the the worst possible times. And 2 of them have flamer which I hate.

The enemies can dodge my Fury's point blank radius Throw of at least 2 meters, just by lazily rolling on the floor (and being at least a second too late at doing that)

It's not the sound that makes them dodge, it's just pure built in % to dodge. that's it. In other words - cheap bullshit.

I'm not a big fan of the Vorcha Soldier. Either way you want to use Flamer on him there is a better kit for it. Vorcha Sentinel is better with fire explosions and the Geth Soldier is better with upfront Flamer damage.

I have no problem playing weaker kits as long as they have an uniqe playstyle. Sadly for me the Vorcha Soldier is not like that.

Hardly. I myself extracted with 75% of kits on platinum (could've been higher if I wouldn't find most vanguards boring), and I'm not even that great of a player. With the proper setup anything can be platinum viable.

Nah, most are fine on Plat. I would say more like 10% of the kits are not decent on platinum and anything can contribute and extract in the proper hands.

I just don't fill like one button spam is fulfilling. And I know that with the soldier you can tap flamer to prime and then FE it, but on higher difficulties against more difficult enemies you're better off generally just melting with flamer and then not figuring in another CD from carnage. They're slow movement speed and low shields makes them very squishy and health regen doesn't matter generally on that high of a level. I just do not find the Soldier to be fun to play at all. Sentinel is alright but just not for me.

I'd say combat speed is their biggest weakness. It's what prevents you from sidestepping to avoid stuff like Ravager shots while under flamer power use/auto weapon fire use. But this is good otherwise they'd be even more crazy OP.

And yeah, that howling comes at the wrong times pretty often, like coming out of hardcover to eat some ravager shots. It even cancels Carnage. Good thing it don't cancel running.

I don't know, the Vorcha Soldier dance around your enemies style seems pretty unique enough to me. While with the Sentinal, you miss out on a lot of this due to lolCluster Nades to solve all problems.

Hard to pick.

I enjoy the soldier a bit more mainly because I spec him for melee.

Eh...an unique dodge is pretty far from an unique playstyle in my book.

No maybe - it should always be a dodge cancel or a cancel with melee. Stand in one place for more than 2 seconds and you're down.

The cooldown on Carnage is a problem only if the kit is not being played correctly.

I'm not a big fan of the Vorcha Soldier. Either way you want to use Flamer on him there is a better kit for it. Vorcha Sentinel is better with fire explosions and the Geth Soldier is better with upfront Flamer damage.

I explained in my post above why you might want to use the Vorcha Soldier over the Sentinel. And yes, the GT has a potentially more powerful flamer because of HM, but no way to detonate, so they are simply different.

And as Grunt/tywig mentioned, try the BPP + SMG Recoil System + HVB on the Soldier.

No crowd control combos. So not the same.

Vorcha dodge is nicely savage too.
