Their incompetence and stupidity have almost doomed the galaxy multiple times. They are incapable of thinking outside the box and believe their way of thinking can apply to any scenario.
- The Council could not deal with the Rachni, so the krogan had to do the job for them.
- The Council could not deal with the krogan, so the turians had to do the job for them. (then the turians hop on the cart full of stupid)
- The Council did not recognize the Saren-Geth threat until they have a geth armada + Sovereign on their doorsteps. Then their hides are saved by Shepard and the human Systems Alliance (after that the Alliances joins the cart full of stupid.)
- The Council dismisses the Collectors as "human problem" and ignores the reaper threat.
- The Asari refuse to join the human plan to strike back at the reapers. They prefer to "secure their own borders" and still think the old ways work and the Council will protect them.
- The Asari withheld critical info that could end the war until the last moment when Thessia falls.
-The Salarians didn't do much during the war except whine about the Genophage cure. They are stuck in their old conflict with the krogan. The STG guys and individuals like Mordin Solus and Padok Wiks are the only ones with a clear head.
The clear minds in the end:
- The turians finally get their act together and work alongside the humans and the krogan (races with whom they were at war at various points in time) putting aside old grudges.
-The humans, despite losing their home-world in the first wave, are running the show and are working the problem. They put Shepard in charge and come up with a plan even if it's a long shot.
