I think the community response should be an indicator of that, rather than myself. I'm honestly shocked that you're even commenting on this; and it's f***ing awesome.

We try not to comment on things that are not guaranteed so people don't get let down if we have to change our minds for whatever reason (there are MANY reasons why features or changes get cut). That said this is something I personally want to do so I'm going to attempt it on my own time. I was thinking a big arena/coliseum/slave pits type venue.

I would add, it would be great if you had to move around the map. Preventing camp spots ect...

Well, Orlais does come up with the strangest ways to entertain itself. . . Occasional round where you mud wrestle your opponents?

Would you rather have a clear objective such as defend the flag for 10 waves or an endless horde mode that just ramps difficulty forever?

Endless horde mode, please.

The promotion system is endless, even with the caps. So we'd need a game mode that corresponds well to this endless promotion system, which would be an endless horde mode.

If it's not an endless mode, then in a few months we'd need a new setting again, because people would have "outpromoted" the old one.

Preferable location: Deep Roads :)

Clear objective.

Or a mode that reminds us of ME3MP, sending us around the map for various things. Salarian STG teams being shot down and the like. Terrible pilots, Salarians.

Having a clear objective sounds far more appealing, in my opinion. I very much dislike the idea of just fighting until you drop, as victory is unachievable.

I prefer having a clear objective that, even if tough, is still possible to achieve.

Endless horde mode where the only ending is eventual death/failure is unappealing to me, although I know many would like that and their reasonings for adding it are sound (introducing a darkspawn/Deep Roads thing, having something to counterbalance the eventual power creep of lots o' promotions).

Player using Legionnaire literally holds off Darkspawn for two days.

Why not both modes?
Endless Horde mode can provide decent XP while giving low gold and "Clear Objective" mode could give more gold but less XP.
So those who want gold can do the 10 wave horde mode, those who like XP can go for endless.

I say endless.

I'm still considering reward suggestions. Have to be careful not to make the regular mode redundant.

How will you know that two days have passed?

In case you didn't see my topic about my idea (with input), for horde mode, here it is, Luke. Wow, so many commas.

Endless Defense with objective is probably better to keep random people working together.

This pleases me!

re:  arena, please have some cover though...

Personally i think Endless may be better:  but break it into waves, so people can at least have a pause for a drink or doughnut occasionally.  This also allows ePeen competition e.g.:  "out team got to wave 34 last night!" "n00bs l2p, we did wave 37" etc  ;)

A really evil option would be to reduce the stat caps/benefits per wave, so wave 1 = 80%, wave 2 = 79%, wave 31 = 50%, wave 81 = 0%

Both sounds good, but if I were to pick only one then I'd prefer the endless horde.  If that was implemented then all my suggestions back in feb will have come to pass :)

The endless horde should imo accommodate all players at any level of promotion without needing to resort to a power nerf (or at least one that appears to impede longterm progress), giving a sort of incentive for players to keep playing to see how far they can get.  For the meantime, I've kind of hit the end of the road so will be playing less often but will still keep an eye on developments.

I don't believe in no-win scenarios, so endless horde is right out. Fixed objective with piles of enemies sounds like a lot of fun, though.

Oh and if you do go endless, three strikes and out.

No fade just back to a reward screen.

Other people can join but not for a few minutes and only one at a time. Maybe have a high wave cut off where reinforcements are no longer possible.

What if it was defend the flag for 10 waves, then it becomes endless enemies and you choose when to extract?  Similar to WF's excavation/survival mission types.

Of course this is being greedy, making you guys and gals do twice the work.

If it came down to one or another, i'd say clear objective.

Agreed, although they should simply copy/paste what WarFrame is doing.

You do 5 waves, then have the option of getting lewt, or leaving. The longer you stay, the better lewt you are offered for leaving.

Obviously if you die, you should not get any lewt (the entire system is about knowing when to quit)

Clear objective. 10 waves over 4 difficulties could essentially offer 40 different levels of difficulty, so waves 9-10 on the 'new-as-yet-unreleased' difficulty would be insane. My main endless experience was Orcs must die 2, which became ridiculous, novelty soon wore off.
