Better yet, an expansion ala Awakening, with all the MP characters as companions while your former squadmate are, elsewhere, doing stuff.

What? I'm allowed to dream :S

Or second best an expansion were we see them in action :P

Totally should've appeared in the Arbor Wilds

MP characters? Koorrbbbiiiiiiin!

Korbin! He's so lovable.

We've never had a knightly dwarf as a companion.

I'm hoping that they do, even if it isn't Belinda. Some of them have potential. Korbin, Luka, and Cillian are my other favorites...Zither! is so much fun to play as, but  he's way to gimmicky for me to suggest that he should be featured prominently in SP (I also wish he was more mysterious and suave...but that's my limit on trying to rewrite characters for one day).

I really want Belinda, though. <3

My favorite part about MP is listening to the banter between the characters. I wish it happened more often.

Am I the only one who secretly ships Neria and Hall?

You'd think that an orphan who grew up among the Dalish and the FIrst of a Dalish clan would have a lot in common and to talk about? It's a shame they never really get any banter between the two of them about their backgrounds... at least, not that I've heard?

I really love the banter if you have two Korbin's in the party, so one comments that he once held off Darkspawn in the Deep Roads for two days, leading the other to sound really surprised and mention that the same thing weirdly happened to him?

:P

Mistress Woolsey from Awakening. I would guess that the next game will involve whatever is going on with the Wardens so why not bring someone back who has intimate knowledge of the subject and connections not only to the First Warden but the HOF Warden Commander of Ferelden as well.

Since I hope DA4 is placed in Tevinter I would say Calpernia but she isn't unimportant. I would love to see one of mage elves you helped which I sent to Tevinter. Maybe Fenris' sister? Let's face the truth. I just want Sandal back.

I wonder why people say Calpernia when, if you side with the mages, she's not even in existence. So unless she's retconned into being, I doubt we will see her again.

Calpernia still exists. She is a magister of Tevinter after all. However, she is not Corypheus' second-in-command then. She also, doesn't necessarily die, since she throws herself off of a cliff (maybe escapes, maybe dies, who knows?), or goes to confront Corypheus, though we never get to know if she ever reached him.

No body = not dead, as far as I'm concerned.

And this is Dragon Age -- you can have a body and a severed head and that person can end up being your spymaster two games later!

Both of these, please!

If we're in Tevinter for DA4, I fully expect Maevaris to be a companion. She is too awesome of a character to be confined to a comic one-off. I've seen people even suggest Calpernia as a potential companion in DA4, and that could prove interesting. She was certainly a "shades of grey" type of villain. She had a noble goal but was willing to do horrific things to get there. Choosing to fight her lack of ethics or go along with it could be a fun RP opportunity. There isn't a scenario in DA:I in which you can definitively say that she's dead so she could certainly come back in some fashion.

And again, adding to the idea of going to Tevinter... I would expect to see Dorian and Fenris return. Possible recurring companions? If so, I'd prefer one or the other. I like both characters but am enjoying the DA method of giving us a new batch of companions in each game. I didn't mind seeing Varric again, so apparently I can tolerate one.

Maybe Scout Harding? Assuming she isn't followed up too much in DA:I DLC. She could be scouting someplace north for the Inquisition (maybe spying on the situation with the Qun for the Inquisitor?) and gets recruited by our protagonist from there. She could have a lot of different dialogue depending on how we played DA:I and give us updates on what our Inquisitor is up to.

This. This! So much this! I love the idea of Dorian, Fenris and Scout Harding coming back as important characters and introduce Maevaris into the game as well! I especially hope Maevaris is a companion and Dorian takes the role of an adviser (or something similar) akin to that of Leliana. I also hope that we see more of his relationship with his father and struggling with the issue of trying to change Tevinter society. I also hope Fenris returns either as another adviser or as the leader of a much more organised and dangerous slave rebellion that's a main part of the story (if he was killed or with a romanced Hawke, maybe another character can take his place). As for Scout Harding - companion and love interest please!

And, yeah... Zevran got shafted, but Leliana went on to have a couple cameos in DA2 and then had a HUGE role in Inquisition.

Every now and then someone says something similar about Sera or Blackwall or Josephine (compared to, say... Solas or Cassandra. He's apparently a god and she's responsible for dragging you to the Inquisiton in the first place, and she can also become Divine).

So, assuming any of these characters pop back up again in future installments, which less plot-central character could potentially be given a bigger role in the plot than they have now?

I have no doubt that Sera and Solas will turn up at some point in the future. I have a feeling Solas will at least have a cameo in DA4 and have a bigger role in DA5 and/or DA6 (assuming Bioware ever gets that far). As for Sera,

Spoiler

then she'll definitely have a big part to play in the future. As for Zevran - here's to hoping he gets an important cameo in a Inquisition DLC or something. Still at least he got (a very buggy) one in DA2.

Umm, I am pretty sure she was a slave, not a magister. She was a slave that eventually became hand picked by Cory to lead the venatori.

So in the case of siding with the mages, she'd still be some lowly slave. Bioware would have to seriously do some work to get her to become an important character. Like...Leliana level of work. (and people still resent the retcon)

In the Western Approach, outside the Silent Ruins, Calpernia is mentioned in a note, suggesting that she still exists even if you side with the Mages.

I like to think that Calpernia still leads the Venatori (what few of them are left) but most of Corypheus' plans for them were abandoned when you took away the bulk of their potential army by recruiting the rebellion out from under him? That meant that Corypheus had to rely on Samson and the Red Templars to instead do all the heavy lifting and Calpernia's now stuck doing desk-duty or something?

She is called Magister Calpernia. But yes she did start out as a slave.

She is not a Magister, a ex-slave. The Magisterium did not announce her. And her association with Corypheys makes her a outlaw in the Imperium. Anyone serving a blight master will not have a place there. She would just loose her head.

Course, Corypheus is also referred to as a Magister... which he was once, but he's not had a place in the Magisterium for over a thousand years?

I chalk it up to what Dorian says about Southerners incorrectly using the term "Magister" to refer to all Tevinter Mages, which makes them sound like ignorant barbarians to anyone from Tevinter?

Well, when it is Lelianna who says it, who are suppsoed to be a particularly well-informed spy, it does add credence to it.

Despite what Leliana says she has no basis for being a Magister. She didn´t have such status in the Imperium and none of her actions would have made it possible.

The same Leliana who failed to find the Warden and Hawke, or properly vette Solas or Blackwall on their respective backgrounds and credentials? It's a good thing I made her Divine, because she might want to turn in her uber-spy badge?
