I just encountered Your Trainer for the first time. Love her, and would be thrilled to see her turn up again, not necessarily in a bigger role. Just again.

It seems all the important elves are magi ie
Zathrian
Marethari
Merrill
Velanna
Solas
Even in the MP we have Neria and Cillian both dalish mages.
Compared to our non-magical elves
Zevran
Tallis
Briala
Ariane was a nod to the emerald knights in my opinion and id like to see more capable elves who aren't mighty mages.

I'd like to see Abelas again, and I would love to run across Sutherland's group. One of the few war table quest lines I was mildly interested in, it was nice to be able to chat him up a little in person and see his group grow over the game.

Abelas, Abelas, Abelas! Even if he did call me a Shem. I need a chance to show him I deserve to gaze upon his shininess.
Frederic of Serault - love him! I wanted to chat with him all day just to hear him talk about dragons in his wonderful accent. He appears to be a fellow aficonado of quality footwear as well. He's so brave hanging out in the desert all alone, determined to finish his studies.
Sutherland's crew - so cute!
Krem
Dorian, who isn't a minor character, but I want to follow him to Tevinter.
Scout Harding and Dagna
Baron Edouard Desjardins and Knight Captain Rylen
Ser Michel de Chevin
Fairbanks
Bonny Sims

Well i strongly prefer character that are useful from a gameplay perspective, Bodhan, because he is the best merchant of Thedas, and Sandal because he is the best enchanter of the World.
