Okay I remember reading on the ESRB or somewhere that the game contained suggestive scenes of people performing oral acts on someone (the Inquisitor?) Did the ESRB just see the Inquisition recruitment scenes with the elves (where they kneel before you) and assume it was something sexual?

And actually showing the Inquisitor's nethers while Sera was out to lunch would take the game right out of its comfy M rating.

You sort of see it if you romance Sera. The oral part I mean. It's obvious what she was doing when the scene starts up after the first cutscene with them ends. Especially if you look at your Inquisitor's face.

Make sure when you get the quest to ask all your companions what gifts to get her, agree with Viv about shaving your ummm... "hair" with something crude, or that scene won't show.

I would not, but I can see the side that perhaps would be.

Iron Bull and Sera are so in yo face about sexualness that romancing them and then being offended or surprised by nudity and/or more graphic depictions could be seen as idiotic. While with other characters such sudden detail could be unexpected in the least.

In that way I believe Bioware struck a nice balance this game with options for many appetites.

Fox News viewers were never offended. Fox News just likes to sensationalize stuff and blow things out of proportion, then have on buffoons who have never played the game to criticize as well as inarticulate hacks to defend the games.

 

The religious right doesn't care that some M rated game has sexual content, or even non-heterosexual content.

Origins was pretty close to it, just that it didn't have nudity.

 

Personally, I would not be opposed to sex scenes just as long as their is an option to skip the scenes and go right to the end. There is still the question of if such scenes would cause the game to lose the M rating and give it some higher rating that most stores do not sell.

 

Easy was to get around that, program the scenes but then lock them out of the final release... to be restored by modders of course. Like with the Hot Coffee mod for GTA:SA.

I wouldn't be offended, but neither do I think it's necessary. I don't mind "fade to black" in the slightest and am completely fine with having the sex take place in my head. To me one of the problems is having it get into weird territory like showing my character orgasm (as happened with DAO), the creepy post-sex Alistair leer thing, or just having it get into the realm of "they tried too hard and now it looks super fake."
 
Although I gotta say, given they fully animated the final scene of the Dorian quarters conversation (if you say you want 'more than just fun'), I DO wish the camera had pulled back and it had been shown from that angle in the actual game. /swoon

Given the amount of players from the DA2 forums (and some in these DAI forums) that compared sex scenes to those in The Witcher 2 and seem to want full-on porn, yes there are players upset that there aren't any sex scenes.
