Again you completely missed it. Why do we want to see more AIs having sex? Tasteless
We have less time on our hands. We can play on laptop and have no one watching. The point is this: Many of us are not into cyber AIs getting it on. It is comical and tasteless.
Go back and read my post. I am not talking about AI sex, I am talking about general nudity/sex in videogames in general. Somehow you ignored all that and just for some reason want to focus entirely on AI sex.
Again, go back and actually read my post and understand what I am trying to say.
I will post it here for you:
"From Earlier"
------------
OMG would you people just come back down to Earth? You all act like people who are open to liberal vizualiztion of sexual content in videogames is essentially wanting porn in videogames. I am not saying that I want 5 minute sex scenes in videogames where the male is doing hardcore thrusting while the female is doing exaggerated moans all while the camera showing actual penetration. No, we are not calling for that.
What we are talking about is examples such as The Witcher 3 where sex scenes are a bit more liberal than what we get in DAI, but still tasteful and not over the top and handled with the appropriate context of the game/characters. A new Mario game on the WiiU that features a sex scene with Mario and Princess Toadstool might not make sense but Geralt in Witcher 3 having sex with Triss makes sense because of the context of the game in which CD Projekt Red established and the maturity level/tone of the game's atmosphere as well as the dynamic between the two characters. Mass Effect 3 "Underwear" style sex would just be silly in the world of Witcher 3 but it made sense in Mass Effect 3 and would be outright distasteful in a Mario/Zelda game.
Seriously guys, Starship Troopers featured nudity (Unisex shower scene) and a sex scene with nudity in it. So does that mean that Starship Troopers was a porno flick?
At the end of the day I think it all boils down to how society positions sex. Again, I can sit there and watch an action movie where every other guy is being shot, broken head, blown up etc and that is okay in the sense of social acceptance. I can be watching Robocop (1984) and see people snorting cocaine, a male tell females to "B****** leave!", man get shot in both knees then blown up in his house all in the same scene......someone walks in seeing me watch this scene and nothing is wrong or uncomfortable. However I am watching an intense sex scene and someone walks in and now all of a sudden it turns into an awkward/borderline guilty pleasure situation.
We really put a taboo on sex to the point where it is seen as "perverted" to talk about sex and what not.
Going back to DAI. Nobody mentioned the fear of their kids walking into the room while Leliana slices a religious women's neck. Nobody mentioned the fear of kids walking into the room while the hero on screen is (Nathan Drake in Uncharted) is running around shooting other humans with automatic weapons. But Lord BEHOLD! if they see breast on screen!!!!
I applaud Bioware for being forward thinkers and VERY progressive when it comes to the portrayal of LGBT characters in videogames in a realistic/non caricature way and I hope that other developers especially CDPR and Rockstar takes note of this. I also like how CDPR is VERY progressive when it comes to the portrayal of nudity in videogames in a realistic/non-adolescent way and again, I hope other developers of M-rated games follow suit. A game does not NEED nudity to tell a realistic story. It does not NEED nudity to create a mature tone for the game. However, nudity if used to add realism/darker tone to a videogame should not be seen as perverted and childish either.
Finally, I believe that it is just the nature of the times. Twenty years ago no developer would THINK about showing nudity in their games, especially back then. I still remember the uproar about the Sega Genesis version of Mortal Kombat featuring blood and back then that was such a "progressive" stance for videogames. Now people don't even think twice when they see blood in videogames because it has evolved from being just a child's hobby to a medium that can not only be enjoyed by adults, but actually geared towards adults. I wouldn't say that nudity is the new "blood" in videogames today because MANY games features male/female nudity. But there will be a time when discussions like this would not occur as nudity in videogames would be fully accepted....just like blood in videogames is today.
