The first one was published by Microsoft and while EA got the rights to it again, I think MS still has some deal in effect. While EA seems to want to keep a grip on the other 2. You'll have to buy the disc versions.
It doesn't make much sense though, since you can purchase the whole trilogy for the Playstation.

I wondered the same thing. I wanted to download them digitally to my Xbox 360 back before I got a my gaming PC, and thought it was odd that I couldn't purchase ME 2 or ME 3. I bought Mass Effect (One) on the Xbox Marketplace as I misplaced my disc.

Yeah this bothers me so much for some reason. Downloaded ME1 then had to buy the boxset to play the other two.
I also don't understand why we have to keep swapping discs for two and three. Why didn't they just make them mandatory installs like every other game that comes on multiple discs?

. You are probably right. But , do they really expect a million sales from the discs ! Or they want these discs out there in shops being sold. That wpold make sence. .The first one was published by Microsoft and while EA got the rights to it again, I think MS still has some deal in effect. While EA seems to want to keep a grip on the other 2. You'll have to buy the disc versions.
