Seeing as how The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is now out in stores, I thought that it would be fun to start a topic on the next upcoming CD Projekt Red title, Cyberpunk 2077.

 

 

 

 

I am admittedly more a fan of science fiction settings than I am of fantasy settings. The Witcher is fun, don't get me wrong, but I would be lying if I didn't feel excitement when I considered that major development could finally start to shift in Cyberpunk's direction with the former's release.  

 

 

 

A dystopian sci-fi/noire setting on next gen consoles and PC, with signature CD Projekt Red world building, gritty storytelling, rich customization (cyber limbs here I come!), and a first for a such a Triple A title (and the feature that I am most excited about) …. multiplayer.   

 

Knowing the level of detail that they put into their games, I can be rest assured that it won't be a tacked on PvP frag fest, but more than likely a co-operative element within the main game; think assembling a team of operatives for runs, that sort of thing.

 

 

 

So what does the rest of the community think? When we finally get a firm release date, will Cyberpunk 2077 by on your wishlist?

Well yeah, we don't have any real concrete info on what the gameplay is like or what have you, but the setting is what really made my interest perk up when I saw the teaser trailer.

 

 

I loved playing the PnP Cyberpunk 2020 RPG, so the fact that we would get to see a next-gen version of that universe was exciting to me.

There's nothing to discuss because there is just about nothing known about this title right now. More information should come out later this year/early next year I imagine.

This may be the first CDPR game I actually buy, so I'm hesitantly optimistic. 

 

I believe they said there won't be any news of it at E3 this year, so maybe during the other game conventions they'll start to reveal details.

Isn't Cyber Punk based off or at least inspired by a series of PnPrpgs? That's something.


The teaser looks good, but like LiamV2 said, I haven't had much of an opinion because so little is known.

When they first released the teaser trailer a couple years ago, I was instantly OMG WANT!!!

Now that TW3 is FINALLY out of the way, I can let myself get excited about it again.  

 

I can't remember the last time I got so excited about a game just from one scant trailer alone and no other info,

I'm too jaded and been burned one too many times in the past by glittery hype, but that trailer killed me. I need more info!!

Please. Blade Runner is set four years from now and science is nowhere close to giving me, flying cars or an android Sean Young 

 

If anything Cyberpunk 2020 would be more futuristic than that film since we would still have a whole other year to achieve all those breakthroughs.

Isn't Cyber Punk based off or at least inspired by a series of PnPrpgs? That's something.

 

It's based on a PnP game called Cyberpunk 2020 made in the late 1980s. Mike Pondsmith, creator of the PnP game, is collaborating with CD Projekt Red on the game.

 

 

Anyways, I'm pretty interested in this game. I have a strong preference for scifi over fantasy at this point, and I'd like to see what the developers will do with this IP.

Basic examples of the top of my head, but yes, Shadowrun is good too. Dragonfall is excellent.
