Yess i got Dragon Greatsword, now my Collection is complete!

Pretty sweet the Victory Chest was set up to award you what you didn't already have. The only Dragon weapon I didn't have was the Maul, and I got it in the chest! Thanks Bioware! Full set now!

 

And omg the Maul is good on my Reaver. DR is just pwnz0ring. My perilous group took the dragon down in 2 shots, only 1 flight. Busted his hind leg up on the 2nd time he was on the ground and he went down faster than Oprah on a bucket of chicken.

Got the shield, which was nice. (Already had a dagger and greatsword).

 

Obviously 1h would have been the optimal thing for me with my Templar fetish, but a decent shield isn't half bad either

I hope it doesn't mean that EVERYONE in the community (that didn't have a full collection) got a purple dragon weapon because this would include those that are playing on routine or just starting threatening.

Because what would they be fighting or waiting for after they get a lvl 24 unique?

I got the purple longsword of the dragon, which was something of a surprise as I wasn't expecting dragon loot in the chest.

 

Although I really mustn't grumble at getting some dragon loot, sadly I hardly ever play con-class melee.... so will be gathering dust in that inventory. :-( Why couldn't it have been a bow or dagger. /sob

I hope it doesn't mean that EVERYONE in the community (that didn't have a full collection) got a purple dragon weapon because this would include those that are playing on routine or just starting threatening.

Because what would they be fighting or waiting for after they get a lvl 24 unique?

Got the dagger, which is a nice dagger. It's also one of only two dragon weapons I owned already. I've now managed to get doubles of both. I'm like the worst collector ever.

I know there are other viable options for offhand dagger but I still use 2 dragon daggers, cause well,  those stats  It's nice to have two.

So dont use them but why spite the rest of the playerbase who may need such a weapon. Its not like their get all the end tier gear and at the end of the day progress in this game is based on promoting and getting better gear

Because these are the basics of every RPG:

 

You don't get the ultimate reward for doing... NOTHING (community chest!)

and normally you aren't even allowed to use the ULTIMATE weapon when you are a beginner.

This is just how it usually works and don't you think that there might be a reason for that?

 

But probably we are speaking without reason because I believe that only those get a Dragon Weapon

out of the chest that had one already before.

I agree with Altbouli here, by all means gift the whole playerbase dragon weapons, but don't deprive those people who killed so many dragons that they completed their weapon sets. Perhaps in their double wide chests there should have been a guaranteed purple to assist in the more general weapon collection completion, rather than the standard rng recycle fodder.

 

I've been killings lots of dragons each day of the event on perilous and am swimming in staves, daggers, and bows while waiting for the maul or a good two hander, so I'm hoping that when I get home I'll be a happy player.

You keep talking about achievements, what are you refering to exactly? I'm not trying to undermine anyone but I consider very little in this game that can be called an achievement - this game is primarily based on promotions and gear, there's nothing I would call skill.

Secondly from what I inderstand the lvl24 dragon weapon dtops are not guaranteed, as some people have got tge much weaker rare versions - it's all purely RNG like it has been in the begining. A new player could get a sulivan blade or Caliban in their first chest. I pretty much got a HOK on one of my first chests.

Having a chance to get 1 out of a possible 8 weapons is hardly unreasonable...

I have killed about 20 dragons on Perilous and the dagger I got from the chest was only my second dragon weapon (had the bow after killing my 5th dragon)

but you just gave your own answer:

 

you want the maul - that's the (main) reason for you to slay all those countless dragons.

Otherwise you'd have long stopped - maybe after the 10th dragon or so.

 

It is not the "great fun" that makes you do this.

 

This is the mechanism behind most RPGs:

You want to work towards something.

 

It is very bad to get the ultimate godly weapon

just like that, for doing nothing.

You'd shoot yourself in the own foot.

 

It is the same thing which makes cheating so frustrating.

I think the supposition is that most people who are playing contribute to the community goal. If they didn't, they either didn't care to and probably won't log in to claim their weapon or they were too weak to kill routine dragons and this should help to participate next week.

I don't have data but I'd bet the number of people who didn't complete their personal challenge and received a purple dragon item is pretty low.

AFAIK, there are multiple versions of the dragon items. I got my first dragon staff, which was blue and had like 82 DPS, after a threatening Dragon. So I imagine that certain prerequisites have to be met before the unique versions can be acquired.

No!  No I say!  I won't have that!  I am not butt hurt or entitled!

 

I may be a pompous cry baby but to label me as an entitled whiner that drones on and on and on about how I am the victim is just not right.  Even though BioWare has it in for me and is messing with me do I complain?  No!  And just because it took me 12 billion gold to finally get a Caliban does that make me entitled and butt hurt?  You would think that just because I pay no money for this game that I can rage on and on and on in a most mind numbing way but that is not me.  No siree, I almost never except on a daily basis get upset about NOT having all these dragon items even though I may have melted a few down to get cloth.  You are obviously some kind of BioWare fan boi that covers up for every foible in all of their games.  I bet YOU thought the Tali ummasked image was a good idea!  You probably also thought that Tiax should not have been given a reoccurring part in most of BioWares games.  You probably thought that giving a game reporter a part in mass effect was a good idea!  Mordin dead???  Good idea BioWare!  Hey I could drone on and on about this but I won't because I want to prove that I am not entitled.  but you go right ahead and sit on your large hobbyhorse and sneer down at all the rest of us and call us names and hurt our feelings!  You go right ahead and do that Mr.  Oh I am the voice of truth Mr Smarty Poopy pants robot face.
