<p>

Do we really need anything other than Helpful Hazard? ;)

CC/detonating abilities? Cross-class combos everywhere? Too OP?

On hit:
[*]Jar of Bees

This. So much This.
I've been asking for a 1-hand longsword that procs Bees, since launch...
Sword of Swarms.
PLOX BioWhere?

Edit:
If that name doesn't work how's-about:
Buzzkill
The Queen's Wrath
The Buzzing Blade
The Honeyed Hewer
The Song of the Many
Bear's Bane
Opera of the Freed Wind

Basically just really want this to be a thing. ;)

It would be nice to see some shields with on-hit abilities i.e. if you have shield wall up and an enemy hits you an ability could activate. Payback strike would be an excellent power for this. Not a big fan of shield wall at the moment due to the stamina consumption every time you are hit, having something like this would make it much more viable imo

I suggest "Don't touch this!" as a name.

I think that most of these "chance on hit" only look good on paper but in practice they just don't ever work properly. For example, I had an unique bow with a chance to cast Shield Bash on hit. Awesome right? Well it almost never procc'd so that made the item quite dull. Then I had some item that had a chance to cast Unbowed on hit and the damn thing went off pretty much only when I was fighting a single opponent so it was pretty useless in the end.

So, instead of these "chance based items" I would rather like to see items with effects that happen on ability use.

For example: A bow with an affix "When casting Mark of Death, Walking Bomb will be cast on the same target". So when you use Mark of Death on a target it will also cast Walking Bomb on it for free without the animation (much like the existing chance based items like the Sulevin Blade). This would also be a way to make the less used abilities more desirable.

Additional item affix examples:

Using Caltrops will also cast Elemental Mines.

Using Evade will also cast Spike Trap.

Using Stealth will also cast Poisoned Weapons.
Using Fallback Plan will also cast Toxic Cloud in both locations.

Using Spinning Blades will now also cast Deathblow.

Using Ring of Pain will now also cast Blizzard.

Using Mighty Blow OR Korth's Might will now also cast Earthshaking Strike.

Using Challenge will now also cast Mark of Death.

Using Lightning Bolt will now also cast Lightning Cage.

Using Flashfire will now also cast Immolate.

Obviously there are quite a lot of interesting possible combinations. Also in addition to this kind of items I would like to see more items that work like the Longbow of the Griffon. How about an unique staff with an effect "Weapon attacks will hit all enemies in a 4 meter radius". Or a unique AoE dagger with the same effect? Nobody uses AoE daggers but I would imagine some would use a dagger that has a very large AoE cone.

There's lots of small details that would have to be figured out before adding these types of items in game because some of them could be simply too powerful. I think these types of unique items would be more fun than just simple chance based items.

A dagger that sucks enemies towards you could be quite nice - maybe my assassins twin fangs attack won't whiff so much then (I do know how to not miss with it, but I shouldn't have to follow enemies until they are in a prime position for it to hit - an assassin chasing after running enemies cursing and yelling "come back here you sod" doesn't quite fit my idea of her image lol) Thank God for Isabella. Perhaps reducing the pause before you pounce in its animation would allow you to hit your targeted enemy better before they continue to move away - or only let you actually use the ability when it's guaranteed to hit - breaking stealth when you don't want to AND not getting the kill to enable stealth again is the number one reason for assassin downs. I love playing assassin because it feels more tactical, taking out the big guys from behind, striking from the shadows rather than standing spamming attacks and abilities like some of the other classes.

With Isabella not having this problem, her survivability makes for little reason for anyone to pick another dagger wielding rogue IMO.

I know what you mean, Isabella is by far the most fun dagger wielding rogue class, I still dislike the alchemist and Elites just aren't a big enough deal to make the assassins main move hidden blades matter that much. I'd rather go for any other AOE character because it just does more work. It's a shame :/

Poor old Sassy. Her one thing is outclassed by Izzy and her ability to do that AND nearly everything else.

Sassy is still queen of burst damage on bosses though for me.

I approve this thread! I may or may not be working on something similar to this right now anyway :bandit:

I'll tell you right now Barrier is not going on a weapon. Every other idea should be fair game though :D

Just please please focus on 'end game' level 20+ items with these kind of abilities. By and large anything lower is never going to get used (except by newer players). End game needs a real item revamp. We don't need more trash for salvaging ;-)

I want a caltrops on hit 2H weapon in a non-jokingly way.

Also Veilstrike.

In general I'm a fan of cross-class weapon skills I guess.

Never thought of that! Aggro on hit would be amazing!

War Cry, Challenge, Unbowed and To The Death would be nice to have on 1H and 2H weapons

The on hit effects that give a crowd controlling ability are way more fun than the damage ones like hidden blade. Something like walking bomb procs is probably my current favorite.

I'd actually to see something along the lines of freeze mines or fire mines used as a weapon proc.

I want a mace that farts on hit -- deadly gas -- and makes a fart sound. That is all.
