This happens to me. I would like to have a collection list to help me keep up with it.

What I'd like is to be able to see how the schematics actually look and how much armor/damage they have before buying it. Having to guess if it's better or not based on the tier doesn't really help.

There is one in the inventory. It has weapon and armor schematics.
Also unless I'm mistaken if you already have it it won't be for sale or random loot
