Sad but true. The interesting thing is that the Asari got uplift help from the protheans. So they had agriculture and medicine 50.000 years ago, we started cultivating somewhere around 9.000 BCE or so.Their civilisation started a lot earlier than ours. It´s odd that it took them so long. Funny thing is that there is no need to explain a technological superiority with a prothean beacon when they had such a headstart.
I wonder if the ARK is some kind of refitted space station. Depends on the method of travel but if it´s some kind of wormhole that was generated it could be that they towed something like Arcturus Station through the hole. The concept art indicates a huge ark after all. Problem is humanity doesn´t have any other stations of this size and Arcturus was blown up.
