The problem is I am not sure if they could get more hairstyles to work for the inquisitor on the older consoles, which to me is why the ones we have look like they are straight out of Origins.
Can we get a DLC Game Pack for Hair?

Not really. The options in Origins were way better. And that's sad.

Mirror of Transformations ? Screw that, I want a barber shop in Val Royeaux where we can trim or cut our characters hair. I also want a system where the hair of characters can actually grow.

...from one of the other threads I replied to about buzzcutgate:
"Once again: That's afro hair.
Those (the "buzzcuts" at the second hald of the sliders) are the only options I have to create a normal looking black person. Before that, it was cornrolls, or bald (yay). Afaik, there's only two actual buzzcuts, for straight-haired people.
Imagine you can do exactly two things with your hair -cutting or not cutting it- without extensive use of cosmetic products, so all you can change is the hairline or the shave."
I honestly can't tell if you're joking or not ![]()

I think is not the old consoles "fault" as many (expecially pc players) want to believe. Because the two last chapters of DA had all the default hairtyles, and even moved on DA2.The problem is I am not sure if they could get more hairstyles to work for the inquisitor on the older consoles, which to me is why the ones we have look like they are straight out of Origins.
But mostly because there are many games on oldgen with moreand better haistyles than DAI.
Just have a look At Dragon's Dogma. There you see hair in common For both male an female characters that work, and have something Like sixty hairstyles or more with the expansion. And some hair even move.

I should have been a little more clearer I don't think it would be impossible to add more to the game, but I do think better is where the problem lies which would be the expectation with any DLC involving aesthetics. There are only so many resources that those older consoles have and the fabled GamesCon video features were cut out of Dragon Age: Inquisition because they were running into hardware limitations. With Mass Effect 3 one of the devs said they removed the holster animation because they ran out of memory on the consoles.
I always have an issue with "this game has x, so it should be possible" only because they aren't the same game with the same design and areas. For how many of those games were an open world game with zones the size of Inquisition and three AI companions?

I just tweeted Mike Laidlaw asking why the "gender-neutral" hair for DA:I is not neutral. I doubt he'll respond though.
Do you really wanna claim guys have more options, though? The only way it could be considered more is if you count the 50 shapes of baldness/buzzcutz as male-exclusive. If so, at least the longer/female haircuts have a few nice ones.
Anyway.. hair options just generally blow in Inquisition. That's one thing that's universally true. And I doubt we'll ever see a little DLC-pack of hair styles, considering the amount of time & the number of (singleplayer) DLC packs that have been released. Apparently little packs of hair or armor/clothes or weapons is too much to do. Even though they could quite literally outsource it to a couple modders, have them create a batch of hairstyles & throw it out there, if they're too busy with something.
Ah well..

Actually, dragon's dogma is open world, have phisical customization, many Interactive objects, but a more action oriented gameplay. But the pc can have Like Three companions At time with him/her.
IS a very complete title.

As an aside - really enjoyed Dragons Dogma as a game and loved how I could make attractive characters with great hair... LOL
I really don't think Bioware will produce a hair pack. There has been such an uproar about the awful hair, that anything they produce would likely receive even more criticism if not derision. They probably think it is best to leave it alone and hope the complaints die down.
The hair styles in all the recent Bioware games - both ME and DA are IMO generally not great - I don't not care for many of the styles - they look so plastic.
The game is incredibly beautiful and detailed IMO but body posture, hair and clothing is a miss, The awful smoking jacket and infamous beige pajamas suggests that Bioware might need some help in the hair and clothing department. The posture and gait for women in the game is terrible. The hunching over of my Quizzy is distracting, Half the time she walks like she has been riding the bull, and it is rather unpleasant to look at.
It does seem odd to complain about such seemingly minor issues (and to many they are minor) but for me the look of the character I play in an RPG is important - and bad hair, posture and clothes tend to break my immersion.
Like I said, I find the game is otherwise so gorgeous to look at and being on my third complete playthrough (and about 10th semi completed) I am still managing to have lots of fun.

There would be no uproar about hair if the pack have hair of the same quality of NPC. Like Isabela (is so hard to make outfits and hair, but for a MP character is not, apprantly. Some double standard, here.
), Morrigan, Calpernia, Cullen, Sera, Josephine...
Really, the good hair seem to go only to the NPC. ![]()

Josie's hair... I would kill for Josie's hair.
I think they should add a warning somewhere. "Good hair only for NPC"
I remember how mad I was when I saw Morrigan's hairstyles on NPC in DA2, but unavailable for my Hawke >.<

It's hard to get through properly in 140 characters, but I was trying to separate the issue of hair being bad with the issue of hair being unfair, if that makes sense. Because I agree that guys have terrible options, but my point to Mike was that they at least make sense for males, whereas they don't for females and it's kind of insulting.

In the meantime, there are mods for the PC crowd to use: http://daimodder.tum...es-my-long-hair
However, the clipping alone will probably suffice to answer why there are no such hairstyles in vanilla DAI.

Some games have hair longer than the shoulders without much clipping, but for the sake of argument, let's assume it's true across the board. I still find clipping a rather poor excuse for the lack of good hair. There is already such an enormous amount of clipping in the game, including on some of the existing hairs, and so many other things. Either way, there is no reason they couldn't have had more short and medium styles without problems.

just to know... what is this difference is scalp to fit the races? the skull seem quite similar for every race beside Qunari, that have horns. Dwarfes and Elves have smaller head and I never noticed?
but even if it is so, the hair have only to be scaled down a little, nothing that should be really hard. Every program have a function to reduce size of the image/model that is being modeled. We have elves and dwarfes, not Asari or Turian. They are humanoid races thin with pointy hair and short but muscular. It have no sense for them to have a different form of the skull.
By the way, Elves have a head apprently bigger than their body, and it seem the same size of a human one (that's why Sera's head is natural over a female human body, while all the elven Inquistors feel like they have a bigger head than what is natural.)
Qunari hair are a mystery to me. Can't wear elmets, the hair are attached to the horns (a bad CC choice) there is really no excuse about clipping. And are the worst hair in the entire game. ![]()

I don't buy the argument that they just fear copious amounts of clipping complaints either. But I suppose that fitting those hairstyles we have to the scalp of each race was a lot of work. Even more so since the scalp is visible in quite a few of them.
They managed to make the hair work in DA:O with different races *shrug* And Qunari don't count in DA:I, because they have completely separate hair.

Since BioWare have no taste in hairstyles, they should make a votation with their fan about what kind of hairstyles work on. Making a votation on some sketches of the styles, and let the community decide on wich ones they should work on.
Really, some of those styles are totally out of context. Why choose those?

That's a terrific idea! It's a lot easier to make concept art than make models and textures, or at least faster, so this would help their resource-allocation immensely. Yes, yes. *chuckles maniacally* Bioware, take this idea and make it a reality! You'll be saving yourself a load of trouble and helping everyone out! Win win.
I had a good laugh, thanks for that.
Glad you did!

There's a hundred of similar 'bald' styles I never used. Kinda ironic. Isn't it? More ironic? TW3's Geralt gets better and good-looking hairstyles. ![]()
