What I find depressing is How BioWare don't seem to recognize How the players don't Like certain elements, that are yes only aestetical, but very annoyng, and not doing anything for it.

I Know they have a lot to think about, but if they can find time to add all that stuff to mp, they surely can do something for the sp players, that until now have been basically forgotten.

No anwers on their official forum, and only negative half answers with no explanation and no half sign of taking the matter in consideration on twitter.

Really, At least some clarification or some sign of good Will would be good! Console players can't go to modders and resolve the broblem on their own! We need a hand from bioware, but we don't even know if they listen!

Others devs would have jumped at creating pack with casual clothes and hair if there was demand! And bioware fan surely are asking for these kind of stuff a lot!

Hairstyle mods are in the top 10 on Nexus for both DAO and DA2. I think that says something about what the fans want more of in terms of customization. I've always felt the Bioware games had subpar hair, but they seem to get worse over time.

I just find it odd, because the skin/eye/etc textures in DAI are pretty great looking compared to previous games.. and then you have lego hair on top with blocky texturing (more so with dark colors.) It makes the character design look half-***ed.

I would recommend to the dev team that they at least attempt to add 1-2 new hairstyles included with the next content DLC. It would be good "practice" for making better hair in the next ME game and future titles.

Witcher 3 really did up its hair game

It may not be the most world stoppingly important thing but having good hair really makes the game much more appealing.

Obviously not expecting something like this from a dlc but having more hairstyle (even blocky ones) would be great. I mean did really need that many variations on buzzcut? Surely a few more up-dos and loose locks would be preferable? Particularly for the poor qunari.

And dare I hope that in futures game we might get more and higher quality hair?

Hey, I think it's pretty important. In a Bioware game especially, since you'll be looking at your character's face up close for literally dozens of hours per playthrough. I wish they didn't discount how important it really is to be able to make a unique character, and an appealing one too. It adds personality, like scars. Personally, it's really annoying to have so few good options because I hate reusing hair for a second character. Even seeing so many NPCs with my hair is annoying, but unavoidable. Having only 2 styles I like (and one having sideburns) means I can only make a couple of characters... :(

Hair are the most evident thing about a character Too. Even more than scars. But notgreat aren't only the (whose quality leave to desire, just to be gentle) hair, but the colors Too. A Little Too cartoony. I think a wheel Like the eyelashes would have been Great.

That's true. It's definitely the most evident aspect of the face most of the time. That's why it's so jarring for me to make 2 characters with the same hair, and why it's so important to have a good, varied selection.

I've said this before, I would gladly exchange the scars (which I love btw) for 3-4 nice longer hairstyles, preferably some nice updo's :)

And a really nice, longer ponytail for the men. I really loved the braid for men in Origins. And Teagans hair.

braids should be the most loved hairstyles ever for devs. Good looking, give the impression of long hair, and are relatively easy to do, since don't neel movemant, bangs, and don't clip.

Really, the problem with the DAI hair is that lack completely good taste.

I would be happy even if all they did was get rid of the receding temples for the women's hairstyles! Such an effortless task to edit the transparency, and no clipping issues, yet it would make a world of difference. I began wondering if there was some lore about female elves having male baldness patterns.

As for the charges of "practicality," my partner's female military co-workers have gorgeous hair, and it doesn't interfere with their work. The nice thing about long hair is that you don't need to worry about cutting it when you're at sea. Click on the pictures to rotate views - check out all the wonderful twists and buns!

Hair and changing the textureless jammies are the two most asked things for DAI. And BioWare doesn't seem to listen.  :(

The thing is though, we shouldn't have to pay money or compromise things for something that should be a given :(

Don't forget the sideburns. Ugh. They're worse in my opinion. And do you know what's terrible? Mike Laidlaw (and the rest of the team) apparently didn't think that it would be an issue. I mean... what? They didn't consider that maybe... just maybe women wouldn't want to have sideburns? I'm not making that up, it's what he said.

It's really sad. These complaints are about as universal as any can get, and still nothing. It would do nothing but good things if they fixed these problems.

You're absolutely right: I rejected several of the hairstyles because of the sideburns. I suppose that having two different files for each hair might take up too much space, but surely there are some men out there who wouldn't mind a few hairstyles without the bald temples and sideburns. Honestly, I love so much about the game, yet cutting corners on the hair and female animations detracts a disproportionate amount from my enjoyment. I would be willing to pay more for a game that takes these things into account.

I don't expect them to fix DA:I. but I do hope that someone spares us a passing thought next time.

I think there was a tweet or two indicating that there would be no fix for the yammies. Not sure about the hair though.

Well, think about it this way: Why have sideburns arbitrarily be attached to hairs at all? They have a facial hair section, so why not have no hairs have sideburns, then have the option to use them there? All problems solved. I kind of hate that I can come up with these really simple solutions and a whole team apparently can't. And you're right, I'd bet most men wouldn't like to have a receding hairline, so they should only have had a few styles with it, especially considering most Inquisitors are young. The way it is, it's bad for males and females. This whole thing just bugs me to no end. I want them to start a game looking at it from a neutral standpoint, not start with a male one and then think about how things work for females after.

If that's true then they're idiots. I'm sorry, but you'll have a hard time finding a more universal complaint, and fixing this by letting us tint the outfit or wear armour would make a lot of people happy at next to no expense for them. Why are they so masochistic? I mean, those 2 solutions I just suggested are already possible in the game! They just need to "unlock" them for us like modders have done. Easily. About the hair, I'm doubting they'll fix that too, because of my tweet earlier in this thread. Mike and the team apparently didn't know there was a problem, even with sideburns.

Total silence about the hair. The jammies was something Like "assume it Will not" (be added new clothes). That will not stop me from complaining. Even if the devs don't want to fix this even if they can, (so they have declared) if enought People complain, maybe we Will see somethimg, if not this game, the next.

Decent hair should have been alteady in the game, but if I have to choose between an armour pack and Skyhold clothrs and hair, I would buy in a Second hair and clothes.

Yup - it was a comment about the yammies. Apparently so technical issues are too difficult to overcome... true or not it sucks, but at least we know not to expect it. I am still holding hope out for hair and for larger or more easily readable type/font.

Yeesh!

The artists had clearly some ideas, so it was either due to money or time or both. Those early 3d concepts didn't lack vision - I do not know the first thing about making games, but I'm sure if the resources aren't there, it doesn't happen. It can't be much easier for the artists to present ideas that are an expression of their talents only to be told that clipping is bad.

Maybe they thought the multiple races would make up for it.

I for one am going to be very disappointed if/when they release armour/weapon packs and nothing for hair. I'd much rather they spend resources trying to effectively solve a problem than add new content. I'd group hair with other technical problems that need to be patched, or at least the sideburn issue.

Don't believe it was technical difficulties. Modders have been having a ball (literally) since launch walking around Skyhold (and Halamshiral) in full armour as well as reskins of the Skyhold outfit, and even completely original outfits. No one is going to tell me a team of professionals can't do what individuals with next-to-no resources can do fine, and have me believe it.

There is not actual problem with changing the jammies. Darrah said so in this interview moths ago.

Probably there aren't big problems with hairstyles too, beside the will to diedicate some time to those. and modelling them. The hair in the gray portraits wheren't even much different in lenght and shape than the horrors we got, beside the dwarfette's braid. Expecially the human female style. It wasn't that much different from Harding's hairstyles, minus the enormous forehead.

It would be enough to me if they convert the DAO/DA2 hair and tattoos into DAI. No new hair only the good old things.

Exactly, and for things like tinting the Skyhold outfit or letting us wear armour, they have to expend almost zero effort, but are still unwilling to do it. You don't want to create new things? Fine, but I disagree. You don't want to patch in a small change to help us? That's just mean.

I'd take anything at this point, but to be honest, that should have been how it was at launch. Both because you should always keep your previous options (as DA2 kept all of DA:O's) and because it's mostly impossible to recreate Hawke without them...

I don't really understand why the different tatoo. Expecially the humans/dwarf ones. And the variations aren't even many, since many are simply the less evident version.
