After pre ordering and waiting anxiously for DA:O I arrived at my computer with questions and frustration instead of laughter and joy.

I put in my disc and nothing happens.

Just to check, i inserted other dics into the drive, and they worked fine.

I know my comp EXCEEDS all the requirements, and yet the comp can't even react to the disc being inserted... :(o

I think I can hear the comp trying to read the disc as i hear it spin then stop. it beeps, then tries again maybe two more times until deciding there is no disc in the drive...

I haven't even the chance to go through all the downloading errors or in-game junk... so this deserves a big fat FML

Have you tried running the setup directly from My Computer or Windows Explorer? Sometimes autorun just fails.

The DVD/CD ROM does not read anything in the drive.

though upon closer inspection of the disc, there is a decent scratch on the outer edge of the disk. This was not cause by me and could be the problem.

actually, I put the cd in a different computer and it loaded up fine.....so it seems to have to do with the other computer....strange.

Yes, to confirm, it appears my old cd/dvd drive did not support dvd-rom? I bought a new one that listed dvd-rom as supported and works fine now.
