One time I played a Pathfinder character that started splitting up the population of a village between myself and a group of NPCs, to see if they were going to go to my undead army or the other group's vampires for feeding.

Pretty sure that character wasn't protecting anybody.

Well yes. I wasn't considering evil characters whenever I made that post. I'm not sure what it says about a person whenever they choose to make an evil character. Not just the ends justify the means but an outright evil character. It does make me think of the extra credits videos on sadistic video games.

My guess is that it doesn't say much. I create a wide range of characters that fall under good, neutral, or evil.

Although I do have a tendency to create characters which run around stealing everything that isn't bolted down and on fire.

It says it's fun to, in a totally imaginary setting, have fun with tropes and normal expectations in a game.

You haven't lived until you have played an all-evil party in a PnP game. Wabba-weeba.

This character is great to have in your party, until you realize they are also robbing the party blind. Then it's a pain in the back digging that grave.

Real gamers go there.

Aren't RPG Codex the ones who hyped Pillars of Eternity up and then cried like bitches when it didn't conform to their autistic standards with 200 dialogue options for every NPC you encounter? I don't think they are "real gamers" they are more like man-children with serious issues. They make most of us BSN users look normal.

Don't look at me, I didn't do anything.

Spoiler

It was probably seboist then. I've seen him on that wretched hive of scum and villainy too but I will forgive you for using it.

I think TheBunz actually played Dark Souls for the first time and decided to join the Forest Covenant. Naturally as a result he would now think all RPG gamers are bullies as the Forest is mostly full of gankers.

For me that depends on the game. As far as elder scrolls go I don't tend to steal as the npcs of that world seem to care. If we're talking about your standard jrpg where you can walts into someone's home break all their jars and look through all their drawers and no one even blinks an eye I don't see the problem. That seems to be the social norm in those worlds.

I'm not a psychology major so I'm not going to give my opinion on that. I found extra credits take on such things interesting but that's as far as I go. Give me a chaotic evil character and I'll have them lawful good by the second act.

I also stole the metal off the walls, as well as an inn.

You stole the metal off an inn? Or you stole the entire inn?

I'm talking about games like Skyrim where it's actually considered stealing in the game mechanics.

In JRPGs, that's just looting as intended.

I stole the metal off of the walls of another building.

Later I stole the deed to the inn, and it became my inn.

I also accidentally stumbled across the main quest of the campaign way too early because I pickpocketed the captain of the guard who held a certain magical item on them.

All I really wanted was the tax money I just gave him back.

If you let me play the Rogue, I will steal everything.

Forest Covenant was the only true covenant for me. It's good destroying back stabbing and ganking scum then getting hate mail from them because they suck at the game. Their tears are truly delicious (they are almost as satisfying as liberal tears), also a lot of Dark Souls players just can't seem to take losing.

When I checked GRPG on Codex before Pillars released everyone was expecting the game to be **** and hating on Josh Sawyer.

I would consider banning you from being a rogue... but God only knows what you'd do with the powers of a wizard or something.

Forest PvP was the best though. Pushing people off the edge and getting lost in the trees. And then running down the ladder only to have Havel smash your fking face in cause you forgot you just left him there when you run into the tower to hide....

Good time, good times.

Sometimes. It isn't really an exclusive thing, though. Most people on the internet are bullies, taking refuge in anonymity to be aggressive and confident in ways that aren't so easy in day to day life.

I have develop a new found respect for you. Rogues are fun. sometimes hilarous. Regardless of class or game, I will do my best to steal all things, twice if need be.

Yeah, the forest was literally the best area for PvP. The layout meant you could set up many different ambushes and even loose opponents as they chased you. The best traps were getting gankers to either follow you down the ladder near the river or into the home of those giant cats, each allowing you to get easy kills.

It's a shame the Bell Covenant in Dark Souls 2 didn't have such diverse areas. I missed running through the forest.

Bloodborne gives us a forest but no covenant there and I don't care much for BB PvP either.

I normally see most posts from the Codex having orgasms over anything from Obsidian including something like Alpha Protocol whereas New Vegas and Pillars are the only recent games of theirs that I would praise.

But yeah, that's why I dislike the Codex due to the amount of crap they spew about individual developers within a company whilst providing little contributions to the world of gaming themselves.

It's lol if you think that game has been designed by special people, for special gamers.***

A guy I knew had this super-ego, so inflated he thought it was a good idea not only to hype the game before and after playing it, but also to insult everyone who was thinking differently. Sadly, his brain-cells were bullying with the others of other comrades.

*** My definition of "special" is appliable both on those selling a faulty product that they consider "ok", and those buying it and idolizing it for the sake of coolness.

It means they are bulled.  They are very weak and hide in their little hole until they are so powerful they can then walk though everything so that there is no challenge and then they actually find that fun.

The word for that is.

HA! Nerd Rage, love that skill.

Kinda wish I never sold FO3.

I can't see how the question if RPG gamers are bullies can be answered in a Forum which refuses to define or discuss what a cRPG is.

To be fair, we have tried discussing it before.

We just end up with 12 pages of nobody agreeing on anything and me seeing how many definitions of the genre I can fit XCOM into.

Is it a sign of bullying when power leveling to severely crush the opposition and getting a sense of enjoyment from it?

It's not bullying if there are no survivors. Just ask everyone in my Oblivion/Skyrim/Fallout 3/New Vegas runs.  =]
