Napa is where it's at indeed. ;)

Wait, in Napa? The August one was 6.0 (I said a couple of months ago, but only because it feels like it).

I just found that the one today was 4.1. Is that the one you're talking about? Or did I miss one in between?

No no in Oklahoma. I'm not in California anymore.

I've experienced a 6 Richter earthquake myself. I'm glad I wasn't in a tall apartment or tower that time or it would be actually horrifying.

No no in Oklahoma.

Yeah, I've technically been an Indy resident for almost 10 years now. I've been in Indy since I was 16, and I turn 26 in December. I don't count assignments, deployments, and other things as residences. I've been fortunate in my career. I technically have only ever been stationed in one place (Indiana), but I've had a long list of various assignments, duties, and deployments all over the country and the world. Indianapolis has been good to me, but Indiana itself is... well, it's the middle finger of the South sticking up into the North if you know what I mean. Which is a shame, since I actually think the South gets a bad rap for the most part.

The travel aspect of being in the military always seemed pretty cool to me. My brother got to travel the world a bit while he was in the Navy. Unfortunately that's always been a no no for me because of certain physical shortcomings. My only experience with the South has been San Antonio and it wasn't that bad. Wasn't a fan of the bipolar weather but other than that it was alright. I'm still kind of bummed everybody didn't wear cowboy hats and ride horses to work like I thought. Stereotypes letting me down again.

Is Texas really considered apart of The South (region wise)? I sort of figured Texas was it's own thing. Hell it's big enough.

I think so. No one's really corrected me on that, if it needs correcting.

Well, I could see this turning into a regional shoving match.

Let's avoid that.

Well I don't know either really. I sort of figured The South ended to the west of the Mississippi. If anything I would figure Texas to be more so South West or Central US just going by geography. But it doesn't matter too much I guess.

Central might be more appropriate. Now that I think about it, that is its time zone.

Actually yes. Though it was small enough to barely qualify.

Yeah all I know is I'm a five hour drive away from Six Flags, so that's all that really matters.

We did have one (Still in Oklahoma) a few months back that was actually pretty weird. Instead of a straight jolt and then it was over. It was like a wavy almost ripple effect. Like usually it's just a quick light shake, but this one kinda lingered. Pretty cool actually but it still wasn't very big.

Nah, if I remember right, Kaiser's not even from the States.

Besides, regional fights are always fun. You learn who has the biggest weirdoes.

I live in Alaska, so yes, I've seen plenty of minor quakes. I wasn't around for the big one, the 1964 Good Friday quake. But I've heard tales...

Parts of it are.

It's a solid red state and member of the Bible belt. They're solidly Republican.

On the other hand...

Lonestar is still the National Beer of Texas.

Anywhere outside of a major city (especially in the Northern part of the state) is George Dubbya Bush country.

And the irony is that Texas is expected to go Blue in the next 20 - 30 years.

Texas is a weird state. And seeing as I might end up there as well for a job (thanks Toyota, for moving from LA to Plano), I figure I better get used to it.

But the worst thing about Texas? It's where David lives.

And you also have Sarah Palin still.

Plus, everyone knows Alaska is just Canada-lite. Odd people who don't even touch the rest of us and are somehow considered a part of the country.

I'm still pissed that we screwed up the U.S. Grand Prix. Now it's in Texas.

Which is a place I might end up. Well, at least I'll satiate my love for Formula One.
