I can't read through all that BS
So, the Red Cross would let the galaxy fall to the Reapers because they'd refuse to sacrifice the Bahak System by destroying the Alpha Relay?
Good thing Shepard didn't work for them, then?
"Call of Duty: World of Warfare."
Good job, guys.
I blame my superiors.
Boo hoo they can go cry me a river while I slaughter their children over Destiny, Halo and CoD and drop their K/Ds.
Did Mcintosh snitch on us?
And lol @ the Kotaku link.

people are stupid. soon thinking bad thoughts will become capital offence...
This is going to devolve into a Gamer gate thread right?
Quite possibly.
Article from 2011. Right during the heigth of the videogame scapegoat propaganda perpetuated by the traditional media. If anyone takes stuff like this even remotely serious, good night.
Hahahaha. I'm looking at my track history of playing total war and Europa universalis or crusader kings.
I've committed war crimes and genocide on a continental scale.
Come at me bros!
Soooo many murdered toddlers.
I NEEDED that duchy though...
I totally feel bad for setting off that nuke in Megaton! I can't sleep at night since I've committed a war crime!
I played Postal 2.
Arrest me fuckers.
So if we slaughter all the pokemon and all the little ponies is that a war crime?
I played Postal 2.
Arrest me fuckers.

Never saw the movie.
The game impressed me immediately with the pissing.
I play Civilization and GTA. I'm worse than you Mass Effect war criminals. I'm Milosevic himself.
Sometimes, when I play gta 5, I ask for service from hookers in the game, buy the cheapest one, then when they leave I hit them with a hammer and make more then I gave them. lel
How can you be a gamer and not commit digital genocide?
No Russian is my favourite Call of Duty mission.
*awaits for the FBI to storm my door*
Despite me being Russian and sensitive to terrorism in Russia, I appreciate the shock value of that mission.
We need more games and/or missions from the evil side.
Wow, click-bate much (both this thead and the article)?
Okay, first of all, that article is 3+ years old, and it raised some pretty interesting discussion when it was first published (see here, here and here, for example) - plus I remember discussion on things like how the win conditions in war games is literally wiping out the enemy (mostly against the GCs), and how game mechanics which are completely valid in term of game design (tech/medic characters, who are supposed to increase team-play and have tactical funcion are IRL terms medics, and killing aid/medical workers is a big no no under the GCs) can unintentionally depict and make the gamer implicit in war crimes - without giving them any indication of that within the game. It's not like it accuses gamers of actual war crimes - just pointing out that games and game developers usually ignore these issues in game design, which is again reflected in the way the gamers play.
Second, the observation that war games largely ignore the Geneva Conventions is nothing new. But when we add "realistic military shooters" (some of which are sponsored by the US military, for example), modern FPSs which take place in "realistic conflict zones", and the relationships these video games have with arms manufacturers, it become clear why this might be a thing we'd like to discuss a bit more, industry-wise (and as gamers too - it's important to take a critical look at the media you enjoy and consume time to time. IMO).
So, we could actually have an interesting discussion based on these observations... or pretend that the gamers are being unwilfully persecuted for trivial reasons. I know which one I'd rather do.
