I shouldn't be complaining, but it's feeling a bit silly.

Current info is yes, they'll be removed, as of the twitch stream on Friday May 22nd. They may add them again. Beg Bioware through twitter and social feeds to keep them around

 

I recommend you buy as much as you can while you can, because you this is as good as it gets for now (and it is really really good).

with ME3 we eventually also got the permanent Arsenal pack, etc.

content specific packs simply make much sense.

I believe these chests are still affected by your item level, so if you're low and new* to the game, it may be better to pool your gold and wait until Sunday (or before whenever these chests stop being purchaseable) to purchase your chests after you've opened more in-game chests to boost your overall item level.

70k is about 28 chests. I seem to have recalled the chance luke mentioned is something like 1 / 100, but I cannot confirm item affects the chests (as I have max item level, and my memory is foggy). If so, then you've only done 56 total weapon chances (2 weapons per warrior chest). It could be in the next chest, it could be somewhere in the next 44 weapon chances (22 chests, 55k gold), or if you're unlucky it could be in the next 144 weapons (77 chests 193k gold) or more (especially if  the rare slots matter more, in which case it dramatically lowers the odds and skews the math)

 

I don't recall how much I've spent specifically into warrior chests, but I haven't gotten another Sulevin yet*. I have spent about 300k gold total spread between all class chests. I have gotten many many many many many other end game goodies though.

 

*Edit: I may have gotten one (or two) lower damage than my own and salvaged it, then forgotten about it. I salvage a lot of uniques.

Edit 2: Holy Andraste's navel, a better Caliban! It may be the 2nd or third I've gotten... but definitely the first I have at 202 damage. Currently wielded one is 199.

Edit 3: Finally a rare item level 23 Rare Heavy Arms Superior Battlemaster Armor Arms +16 constitution. This item is even more rare than end game unique weapons.

Edit 4: ... Of course I get to eat my words as I gain 2 more of those upgrades within the next 5 minutes of chest opening.

Short answer no.

Longer answer: If you really love the occasional Pota Proc for Reaver moreso than damage and HoK, yes (otherwise no). No for Katari and Avvar, though it certainly isn't bad for Avvar.

I think the entertainment value of sucking everyone into your attacks makes it worth using on Avvar sometimes, particularly given the nature of his skills.

I love these chests! Very first warrior chest gives me superb lightening rune, sulevin blade and superb HoK ring. Bye bye slayer and sundering, you've served your purpose and should enjoy your retirement.

These new chests are kind of crazy. Only opened about 6-7 so far - rogue chests gave me PbtM and two LBotG - then warrior chests gave me Sulevin Blade and a purple HoK ring. 

 

Isn't this a bit silly?! I'm all for rewarding players, but this is just a bit OTT isn't it?

*Check under Prestige --> Challenges --> General --> Wealth Banner to check how much gold you've earned thus far. If it is below 350k, you may be under the max item level.

 

 

Hmm.  I am listed at 622,592.  Bought two Warrior chests and the rares were superb runes.  Each one had a Hossberg Twainer in it, and the first also had Sundering.  I had both of those already (just got Twainer the other day).  But I started playing after it seemed everyone started regularly skipping treasure rooms.

Not really. I had 8 warrior chests and the only Epic I got outside runes was a +200 Health belt. I am not talking about useful epics. I mean epics, period.

Some people are lucky on the RNG, others are not. I like to think I wasted most of mine with quite a few Dragon Drops off perilous, sadly.

I am fairly sure max item level is determined by the interaction of in game chests opened and store chests opened. I think being too low on the in game chest count will damage your item level no matter how much gold you've spent.

I think store chests are normalized based on gold spent, otherwise the small chest kings would be spanking us large chest lords based on amount opened.
However, amount opened in treasure rooms doesn't have that issue.

Maybe I'm crazy. But that idea would be a great way to punish min/max Arcane Warrior MLG promotion glitch grinding cheaters without them being able to legitimately complain about it

No, there aren't any Dragon Weapons in these chests currently.

wow these chests are completely broken, I been getting calibans and sulivan blades like crazy from warrior chests, then back to back 10% Hok on rogue chests... also salvaged superb amulets like crazy

And this is why we can't have nice things. Shhhh be quiet. Pls.

ETA: The Boon of the Spoon! Finally! I've wanted that for the longest time! Already had Sulevin, Sundering and Starfang (RNG loves to give me good 2Hers and I don't play that class often). Yes! Love cheesy weapons.

 I don't know, I know they are great chests but my luck has been no where near like that. I've opened about 10 warrior chest and have gotten nothing "useful" (No high uniques or accessories), opened about the same number of rogue chest and have gotten the sup crit damage ring, and wicked grace, since those first few chests my luck has been kinda bad. Just a bunch of sup runes and blues mostly. I was almost tempted to buy platinum, but my luck went downhill fast and has discouraged me from it.

Watch as they introduce a new tier of items with a new difficulty that makes all these items obsolete.

 

Sorry to be a downer but I haven't got anything great in the new chests, except for a few top level armor upgrades.

I've bought 5 chests and got a purple guard penetration ring, woo at least I got some superb lightning runes, I was getting low on those.

These new chests are exciting and seemed to have an impact on the threatening games I played last night. People were breaking pots for each other and splitting off into pairs to clear treasure rooms so the gold came pouring in with minimal impact on the length of the game. Combined with people playing the challenge classes, this has been a fun weekend so far
