with this rate on epic loot. Bioware needs to give us new items soon. because everyone will have everything in 1-2 months.

 

No offense, but I have been playing since release and my favourite character by far is the Hunter. I got the LBOTG and the Critical Damage ring today. I agree with it that overdoing it will equal financial inflation, but for just one weekend here and there powering it extra, I'm all fine with it.

 

Actually, I wouldn't even be opposed to removing the "at least Rare" bit; giving me only a pool of stuff relevant to my preferred character class is enough.

You need more warrior chests. I know you're disheartened now, but a 20 streak without decent uniques (I've gotten plenty of sundering belts too) happen. Some of the high level blue weapons are actually pretty decent, like Firm Tournament axe, emperor's guard blade, and sundering (used to be third best maul in the game, definitely best blue 2H).

 

Health Belt comes, but again is rare. See above 4 / 240 , spread across 240 chests, could've been first could've been last. PbtM actually sucks. Cruel redemption is better, and comes pretty often on Rogue Chests. HoK is on all class chests, and I think Crit Damage is on both rogue and warrior, or maybe just rogue. Not sure.

 

Sulevin and the +16 upgrades are really rare, 1/100 chance for sulevin was mentioned somewhere (this may be wrong, YMMV). So no wonder you might think your warrior chests are trash, because you're only looking for very specific items that are rare to get. . . i.e. your expectations are too high for how low your spending pool is.

 

You need more gold to get what you want. It isn't that the odds aren't better than ever, because they are, it is just that you don't have enough luck + gold to get there immediately.

 

I lucked out, but I also had over half a million gold available to spend to get there. Sorry I don't have anything better than keep on trying. The loot is there if you keep on digging.

 I just bought 20 more, (used some platinum), was a mistake. I got nothing worth mentioning. About 2 more sunder belts, call of the dirk a couple of times, just a bunch of useless stuff. I should of known better, no ones fault but my own, just 50 dollars down the drain.

I'm going to miss these chests. They're giving me a drive to play often and look forward to something other than promoting. I hope they bring them back somewhat often. I think I'll just start saving gold until they show up again.

And maybe have it be valid for your current item level? As in, don't give me anymore level 1 daggers when I should be getting level 20+ items.

 

That said - it was good to finally get uniques worthwhile now. The game finally felt rewarding. Once these chest goes away I don't see my group being as motivated to play as we have been this weekend.

The Shield is so so if you ask me. Not really good to tank with in my opinion. I get so distracted by how pretty it is I hardly notice what is going on around me.

Call of the Dark? That maul isn't useless. Dangerous, but does end-game damage rivalling the dragon maul. It is upgrade-able too for Heal on Kill + constitution or even more damage. I wouldn't call getting that maul useless.

 

If you listed exactly what you got, I could easily point out what's useful or not. At this point, you do need a change of perspective, because some of that gear is clearly useful to others.

 

If you don't play 2H warriors though (at all), you may want to buy rogue chests with in game gold since 3/5th of the warriors are 2H.

I think i've opened 5 or 6 chests now and i've got around 8 uniques (not including the various superb gems) highlights being:

- Caliban

- Superb Magic Amulet

- Superb HOK ring (my 3rd)

 

the rest were all lvl 19 or lower, still it seems worth saving up and buying these class chests.

Today I got the two very last items I hadn't got before, Agony and Staff of the Void. I also got the PBTM today, I had had three of these in the past but salvaged all (the last one by accident). Adding up to the Song of the Marches, Axe of the Dragonhunter, Pyre and 200 Hp belt which I got yesterday, now I have all items in the game, including Dragon ones. Not bad after having earned something like 2.7 million gold in game.
While I am glad these chests are here, I am also glad they aren't here for long, because they feel spoiling - it is too easy getting high-end items this way. Just like everyone else, I wanted a loot improvement, but (as long as you have/can make gold) this is almost a give away. On the other hand, many not so experienced players should have plenty of Perilous worthy gear after this weekend, which is always a plus for the community.

Yeah sorry, if you have almost everything, it is pretty clear you need a lot more gold to get very specific items (300-600k worth), and leave your expectations low. It is still better than large chests but... sorry for bad luck.

 

There's a few categories it doesn't work out for:

 

People with low item score

People that only need a few items, but have low gold.

People with bad luck

 

 

As an aside, I noticed Isabella has a lucky rabbit's foot on her hat (are there even rabbits in DA?) on her higher tier armor. She definitely believes in Lady Luck

Should I rejoice or should I mourn? Items I have searched months for... Handed out like candy... Still no hok for me (I like to think it makes me a better player)... I guess it's in preparation for the next tier... How hard could it possibly be?

Not exactly handed out like candy, some people have been very lucky, others have not. I've spent 80k in these chests this weekend, plus bought 17 with platinum. I can count on 1 hand the number of items that were of great value.

 

And of those items, none of them were bis weapons (or former bis after dragon weapons), no sul blade, no blade of red birth, nothing of that caliber.

picked up mage hunter and a few other things. Never did get a caliban or sulevin. Only opened around 100 chests though. Picked up every other endgame 1H and 2Hander as well as endgame daggers, (already had endgame staves and bows) and the 2 endgame shields.

Very disappointing for me.

 

Runes and more runes, a berserk weapon (same one twice), ability rings that I ready have some decent armour upgrades were the highlight.

110k spent. Got agony, firm tournament axe and purple HoK, pretty happy with that. Also, about 15 darkspawn alpha shields, so much +20% focus! So much everite.
