Or did they wear something more like armor the sentinels of Mythal wore? Only problem is that neither armor is actually emerald colored.

I'm just trying to figure out where that armor fits in with the lore learned in DAI. It's possible that the armor is even older than the Dales, could be from even the Arlathan days.

I don't think it's from Emerald Knights. I guess it's older, perhaps dating back to Arlathan - at the very least that's what the codex entry would have us believe.

Note, however, that "dating back to Arlathan" doesn't necessarily mean "from Arlathan" - it's found in a relatively removed part of Thedas, place where apparently the elves not just coexisted but lived with humans. When were they destroyed (and by who) isn't sure. It could be that they were - at least to some extent - an elven culture  either distinct from that of Arlathan, or one that outlived it (or perhaps both).

Isn't the description of that armor the one that says it "came from a time when the Creators still talked to the elves"?

Indeed, I admit to the sin of responding without going to check and read carefully the codex flavor.

So, yes, if we are to believe the description, the armor is from times of Arlathan or older.

By talk to, do you mean demand they go annoit themselves in their sigils and become their property?

...could you please reserve your profound knowledge of relations between elves and their gods for appropriate threads?

Or, to be a bit more blunt: is this offtop really necessary in a simple thread with one simple question (that got answered already)?

PS: andy, here's the codex description of the aforementioned armor on the wiki, I meant to link it in my last post, but I apparently failed to do so.

Seems rather unnecessary.
