you were abusing two obviously new players with the worst kind of profanity and yes, I stood right next to you and barriered myself but not you even though I knew we'd wipe because:

  1. we were on the last wave of the castle fighting trash mobs
  2. I couldn't carry it as a Level 1 keeper
  3. you were playing your assassin like a dumb donkey
  4. there was no way you were going to survive and the others were already in the fade
  5. AND most of all, I didn't want to play with you any longer.

Nobody abuses newbies but me.

Powered by BANE!

Seriously though, well done you. You are not the only one with selective barriereering skills.

If you behave you get to have a nice blue barrier, if not I clear off somewhere far away.

I was just in a match with 2 keepers a hunter and me on the virtuoso.

The hunter did everything in his power to keep as far away from all 3 of us as he could.

He goes down in room 5, halfway across the map, and starts spamming "over here!"

Not one of us moved from our spot.

I had a game earlier today with a hunter, a virtuoso and a reaver while kickstarting a recently promoted keeper through Threatening.

As we failed the game, I noticed I had 2 kick votes on me. On the scoreboard, I noticed I did 60-70% of all the group's effort, which was synonymous with how I saw the level 14 virtuoso only spam his Fire-fire-fire spell.

Sometimes, I do not even know what people expect or how people are blind. I do know that I do lose faith in players though, the more idiocy I encounter.  -_-

I made the mistake of playing Virtuoso when there were some dudes with mics earlier today.

I don't use Virtuoso to be a barrier monkey, but it didn't look like we'd make it if I didn't. Voice grated on my nerves to the point that on the last wave, when the dragon wasn't summoned like I thought it was, I said 'screw it' and ran in circles in the middle of the field.

And I was still the last to die.

Virtuoso is OP, pls nerf.

Pug will kick for any reasons. Back in my ME3MP days I was kicked once for having unpronounceable Origin ID... ;)

I really don't like the idea that some pugs seem to have: 'Oh look, a Virtuoso! We can stand wherever we want!'

Please, please for the love of the Maker, don't do that.

I'll take an archer's near one-shot to the face for you, I'll get in between you and that Shadow if I have to, but please don't make me barrier spam in the middle of the stairs.

I was not!

Damn Dalish knife ears trying to tell my Orlesian assassin how to play?  The nerve!  I'll just have to tell my cousin the Baron to go into the alienage and beat some elves.

This is likely why I hate playing support (keeper, virtuoso) classes in pugs, because the players don't really care about their position but look to you to barrier them/bail them out of impossible situations they put themselves in. Or maybe, I'm just terrible at playing the class, I prefer dealing damage.

This.

Look after that guy or the two who haven't charged off to the other side of the map?

If I get carried away with my katari I sure don't expect a keeper following me around, yet many others do.

I have mixed feeling everytime I see posts complaining about PUGs - probably because of the region lock it can be hard for me to find people but on the other hand people are generally nicer and never kick people unless they AFK. People are also unusually tolerant of level 1 jumping into Perilous. I can't bear to do that myself though, I feel bad going in with too little ability to contribute.

Assassin Pugs? Barrier? What?

Well behaved pugs might get some barrier, as well as a free carry. But a Xp detrimental class like the Assassin being played like a donkey? If a pug lands with an Assassin in my lobby I would rather let it bleed out. More Xp for the team and for the pug himself this way.

I have had groups get pissed at me on my Keeper because they decide to run all over in zone after zone.  or leave me in a situation where I'm having to outrun a bunch of enemies but they somehow expect me to leap past all the enemies and use my barrier on them.  I've carried zone 5's on my keeper before. but I get fed up with it at certain points and stop using my barrier on half the group because of behaviors like that.

It's a hard pug life being a support class, man. Do you know how small this circle is? Do I barrier the guy standing next to me and myself or do I barrier the guys 10 feet away? And one guy is 6 feet away from the other guy? Which one of them needs a barrier more? Or do I just chain lightning a few of those guys to make the battle easier on them? Or do I static cage the enemies to make the battle easier?

Barrier ain't easy.  B)

+1 for Arrested Development reference. We could call it "Use your allusion".
