Trying to cast barrier is like herding cats.  Sometimes all you can do is stand in a doorway and hope they go through all at once

There is a solution:

- Get Virtuoso

- Get massive radius electric song!

- Get Dragon Staff 24lv.

- HoK 10%

- Play solo!

Best solution till Sulvein blade!

Seriously, you must to have luck becouse i play public 7 times in this weekend, rest i play solo becouse of "Lost connection to the session"

Virtuoso is too responsible for me.

I feel sexually harassed some games with everybody sticking to me like glue.

I am a bit evil when it comes to casting barrier. If you run off like a fool don't expect me to barrier you or revive you, if you don't open the doors for your class, I won't barrier you, if you try to boss me around on the mic (in a stupid way, does not concern legit and polite advice) I won't barrier you... basically I use it as a punishing mechanism.

Humping the barrier caster's leg is a valid tactic and I refuse to stop.

lol I am doubly evil. I boss pugs around the mic that are about to die because they're acting like pugs (running off to die... aggro'ing as keeper, etc) I totally approve of the withholding of barrier.

If I like my group though, I will tell them outright I am not going to barrier them as virtuoso. They seriously shouldn't need it though with so much HoK and offensive power around.

Who needs barrier when the enemy melts dead? lol

Staff already has HoK, I recommend the Fan Favorite song, and Critical Damage rings, and Dexterity amulet. Double your electric critical damage fun even more by attacking at point blank range.

I dont really go out of my way to barrier, though I do try and position myself so that the party benefits from it.

Well, bossing around is not bad, when it's as I said, sound advice. I've had pugs who I guess considered themselves a combat strategists in a previous life that have dropped some of the most stupid lines over the mic. Can't hit the mute button fast enough. Then, on the other hand, I had a perilous pug tell me the other day to come back to them as I was reavering everything in the middle of FC. Which was good advice, because I had pulled all the aggro on me (in the middle of the big open nothing of archers) and considering I don't have that many constitution promotions, I'd have been dead very very soon. But I do get carried away on the reaver sometimes (which I know is not great, cause I become the rambo pug), especially on FC. But those 50 kill streaks aren't going to do themselves, ya know?

And it's be great if everyone announced if their virtuoso was offensive or more defensive. They are a big wild card currently, though personally, I've only met one good offensive one so far.

PUGs are under the disillusion that Eles, Keepers and Virtuosos are supposed to be their personal bish. The first fight I had on XBL over this game was because, guess what, Keeper barrier on a routine match. smh Now I admittedly make jokes about Keepers being the team medic (cast barriers and do all revives), but that's what they are... jokes.

-_- Kill faster, find a better team and stop dying. You shouldn't need a pocket keeper at all... let alone on Threatening.

Forgive me i thought you were a keeper/healer class of a team. Maybe you should play alone if you feel that way.

Find fault in yourself before trying to blame others for your failures. Keepers do more than just cast barriers, contrary to what you and 99% of puggers like you feel they should do. Aren't rogues supposed to OHK everything? Saw what I did there?

It's a hard pug life being a support class, man. Do you know how small this circle is? Do I barrier the guy standing next to me and myself or do I barrier the guys 10 feet away? And one guy is 6 feet away from the other guy? Which one of them needs a barrier more? Or do I just chain lightning a few of those guys to make the battle easier on them? Or do I static cage the enemies to make the battle easier?

Barrier ain't easy.  B)

You Barrier yourself, and whoever's standing next to you. Your survival is your first priority, because a Keeper/Support Zither/Barrier User's ability to stay alive extends the team's chances to stay alive. If people want to run ahead, then that's on them, but your responsibility, in that role, is to keep yourself alive, and those around you alive.*

Nearly everyone who plays the game should have a solid idea of what Barrier's range is, that's all you have to work with. There can certainly be exceptions made, but odds are, that's not something that's gonna come up in a PuG situation.

* Referring purely to Barrier not being easy.

I remember forming this bond with a virtuoso while a hunter. I deliberately dove in front of a Shadow meant for them and we just stuck together like glue since.

The bond between a man and his mage partners is as wonderful as it is magical. It special; unique. It is not given, but is rather earned.

I don't get it, played a couple of PUGs as Keeper, every single time at the end of the match every one deserts. This is despite the fact we had no wipes or fades and I kept barrier active on the others often while forgoing it for myself, which I can afford to do most of the time thanks to heal on hit staff. It's like if people don't want to be supported or something.

If I switch to my AW and just spam kill with out really thinking of the group other than just sticking nearby? People tend to stick around for more matches.

I blame the circle being too small as well as the glitchy stairs, for missing clutch barrier moments....

I don't normally go more than 2-3 matches with the same pug group, no matter how good they are.

Sometimes, it's only one match.

I have to take breaks between matches.

Seconded. Sometimes you just like to look through your stuff without somebody trying to kick you for taking too long.

Not only do I take breaks, but I'll only stick around a group a bit longer if I think they're fun to play with, skill not required.

Same here.  I always hope people don't take my leaving as an offense.  I just need frequent breaks.

Yeah, same here. Most I think I've run with the same PUG group is maybe 3 matches in a row. By then, I either need a bathroom break or a trip to the kitchen to refill my drink, and I'm not gonna hold up a room for that.

Back in ME3MP, see, the load times on PS3 were literally so long that I had time to do either of those things after readying up and still be back in time to see the end of the load screen before the match started.

Not even joking.

DAIMP is much, much faster, thankfully. However, that does mean I lobby hop a lot more now due to those needed breaks, haha.

lol. Wish you were in our private games. We'd just carry each other for those that need to break for a few zones (or an entire round haha). Tell them to bring a level one in the latter case. They'll carry next time the rest of us need to do the same.

That's my thing too. I don't want to hold up groups while I look at loot and such and I've had kick markers pop up on me while I'm still loading out of the game and back into the lobby.  Even with highest damage. lot of assists and helping the rest of the team out through the run because they thought I was taking too long to re-up for the next run.

Pffffft. I don't even need a good reason. You want barrier? Play a keeper or something.
