I have added people before if they are on the mic, they don't do anything obnoxiously annoying, and they have some semblance of common sense. Finding people in Pugs who actually use the mic correctly is rare enough as is though so this has only happened a couple of times since I started playing on PC.

I send requests to people who try to be good team players even if they're not very good. I don't mind, actually, I think the game gets pretty boring if it's all OP players. But if I have some beginner teammates and I can help them extract? That's a very enjoyable kind of game and I'm happy to help them out.

I usually accept friend requests. Then discreetly unfriend them when I find out they are twelve.
Other than that my recent friends on memp have been from BSN. Then they find out how bad I am and discreetly unfriend me.

I'm on PC.

 

My Mic has never worked and I only recently got the console open for textchat.

 

So I've gotten requests from people I haven't talked with at all, only played a good game or few together.

 

Always found that interesting. Fun when you find yourself working extremely well with someone you can't even talk to.

 

One of my favourites was a Paladin (Myself) and a Slayer. Open up with Snapcheese and Biotic Slash for lots of booms. I ED, he charges in, and we get to work in melee bonking and slashing. Regroup, recommence. Good times.

Time zone is a factor as well. I've accepted friend requests only to later lose them or cut them because our playing time isn't aligned.
