First off is more realistic skin -Frostbite is well suited to model sweat, laughing and crying with the stretching of skin and muscle.

Second is independent behaviors and team management- put your teammates to work at what they do best.  

  1. Thief can be an asset - on a good day loot, on a bad one a bail out $.  I had toon in Skyrim could do pickpocket missions that I could not and independently take off to loot various things and sometimes get caught.  Impressive behaviors as well as integration of game politics and menu systems.
  2. Teammate auto looting is still experimental in Skyrim, it's marginal, but handy when it works.  Show off the behavior on the NPC and reduce the player wasted time on multiple sequences.
  3. NPCs as well as the player can teach others new skills - maybe to add that secondary weapon?  Or gain an attribute or skill?
  4. Have a bard sing for the team occasionally or a troupe play instruments.
  5. Stealth for attacks or to avoid danger and more options to negotiate a peaceful resolution.
  6. Have an option to gain a business for income and expanded goods, Varric or Josy for instance, and sell your crafts.  Have a teammate handle the shopping  - Vilja had this in skyrim and it was very valuable to send her off shopping when needed, similarly you could add temporary camps.
  7. Various investments in farming, water, outposts and military etc.  The few we had were a good start.

Bring back health regeneration from constitution -its slow, but better than running to camp -would also like a return of magical healing and it should be a difficult one to learn, starting with bandages and sewing, then with study advanced knitting and a boost to regeneration (constitution boon) that might reduce stamina.

 

Love interest Behaviors akin to "...I'm walking on air and ...on top of the world..." are very cute.  I just tested an early character and when she fell for me she was walking on air for a while -that reference was not lost on me, but her behavior also changed to be very close by and the dialog to drop her leaves -these were impressive elements that you have bonded!  Also bring back envy and jealousy with complex emotions building relationships and the conflicts and diplomacy.  If you work at it as a labor of love =more value.  You could also explore different relationships, materialist gets old pretty fast as fable showed, but there are others to explore.
