Sounded like all Krentinal talk to me. My bad.
Anyone spec any melee points in Shaman?

I can't believe my Shaman didn't glitch properly on XBox yesterday. That was the whole point of coming back on X-Box. To also make him work out for Shotgun + Omniblade 200% cooldown. Otherwise he's practically the same as my un-glitched PS3 account (ok, so with more shield regen too).

My Shaman has full fitness because I play him as Barrier bomber. No Shockwave, just Warp and Barrier. Run into the enemies, detonate the barrier and profit. Warp for situations where you need to fight at range. Sometimes I hit stuff but that's just for fun.
I've tried hard to get the offensive Barrier/TA/AF thing to work but never figured it out. Invariably I triumphantly blast a group then immediately get sniped by a Prime or Scion taking advantage of my newly lost DR. Closest I've come is a pretty awesome Asari Valkyrie who spams AF detonations while keeping her TA up.

But once you detonate it, you can turn it right back on right away, no? But you still get the cooldown that prevents you from doing a real detonation. Hence only to be used if you need some breathing room (that is, if you can actually remember it in the heat of the battle. I usually end up gang banged in the midst of a Phantom mob squad instead).

Fortication gets a CD for purging but none for recasting

Well, situational awareness is a must. It's a CQC tactic, you can't do it in the open and expect not to get shot at. DR is overrated anyway, you only get the full effect when you're in hardcover anyway. You have to make sure that your targets do not have shields or barriers anymore, then they'll get thrown into the air. Otherwise they will still get staggered, so you can use that time to shoot at them while you ready the next barrier blast. It takes a few tries until you get used to it but when you do it is awesome fun.

The point is not going for BEs. You use it for direct damage and crowd control. You'll do ~1.5k damage to every target close by, every ~2seconds... not counting your weapon damage. This is actually a kit the benefits from playing with tech kits, so if you have Arc Grenades, Overload or Energy Drain in the team, you will perform better.
Tech Armor is similiar but has lesser range. AF ... I don't think anyone takes 4b impact radius on AF, so it has even less range than TA. However, I detonate AF when it is almost up anyway, this also skips the "AF is invisible" bug. The damage adds up nicely.

I only ever spec into the bottom evolution of Ani..e... AF. Don't want to get too close to enemies plus I can reach to multi-prime more enemies to detonate with my area Throw. And saves you on extra running around.

It's impact radius. I don't think it increases the radius of the aura though.
I could be wrong about this ... does anyone know for sure?

AF increases the priming radius as well.

Pfft. Like the BioWare description is wrong. Don't you listen, Daemon, promote 2 twice to compare yourself. Science must be performed to avoid the spread of false rumors.

Thanks. I just tested it with my Fury... I honestly can't tell the difference for the field but the impact looks bigger. *shrugs* Oh well, I'll keep it at 4b then.
