I haven't played in a while so this might be a regular occurrence, but is anyone running into hacked games? I've had several where I alternately am either invincible (don't take damage at all, or take damage but can't go down), unstoppable (everything dies in one hit), have infinite grenades but ammo boxes don't work, or any combination of the above. These effects seem to turn on and off at random throughout the match, and I think they affect everyone in the game (although I've seen people go down while I was invincible, so I'm not sure). idk if the server recognized it was hacked, because on one occasion I didn't get any credits after the match (though the post-match screen showed +150k or whatever) but on another I did.

On PC, of course.

I'm a bit out of the loop of what's happening on BSN these days. I do see that the person has just one post so far. Is he the real guy or just someone's alt account?

OP hacked games are an unfortunate fact of life on PC.  They are, however, not that common (in over 1000 hours of game time, I've run into less than 5 hacked games in the wild...and that includes 2 games hacked to make things harder).

ok well i've run into 3 or 4 in the last week. and ya i'm not about to report anyone, cause i don't really give a ****, plus how would i know which of the other 3 is doing it? was just wondering how common it was.

not that common,tbh. 3 or 4 in week is really lucky to run into hacked lobbies. that's like finding 2 shiny Pokemon back to back in Pokemon silver for GBA.

I don't pug into many hacked games, maybe 3 total so far.

 

When it does happen, I stick around just to see what's going on, but I won't stay for another.

I seriously got another one since posting this - london/cerberus/plat, had the hack objective on wave 3 and about infinity husks spawned and killed everyone. then in lobby he wrote that he wanted everyone to use scorpions.. apparently there's a text chat feature? quit after that.

You should have switched to Scorpion or Falcon and enjoyed zombie mode. Text chat is another mod, yes.

There is a text chat but it's not readily available.  You have to access the command console then you can type say blahblahblah

The later could of happened if the former didn't come with Paranoia. Man, yesterday I was so scared of playing on X-Box again against all these OP X-Box players after a major session, that I totally crawled in a hole and watched the rest of Tropic Thunder to come down a bit. Then I was fine and even asked on BSN for OP help.

OP they're modding the game, sounds like you're playing zombie mod/grenade defense mods.

Text chat is a unreal engine feature you can use when you enable the console with a dlc bypass tool.

Sounds like you got into a lobby with a host that still lives with mum and dad, probably in the basement.

Joking aside, you need to hack the game files for that, some people like to call that "modding" like that would make it better. I don't mind if people do it and keep it to private lobbies, but when they do that in public lobbies without telling you before the game starts is just annoying and a waste of time as I have no interest at all in it.

Does anyone know how to mod the objectives during the waves 3/6/10? It'd be pretty nice to attempt a few solos not having devices and targets all the time.

 

Yeah, simply reduce the "weighted chance of selection" variable for that particular objective to 0.0 in the coalesced file.

 

This is done on percentages, so if you have targets, devices, hacks, pizzas and escort, each innately has a 20% chance of being selected each objective wave.

 

Reducing targets and devices to 0 gives the other 3 objectives 33% chance of selection, as they are by default all weighted equally.

 

If its just devices and targets, that's easy, as those objectives are held in the base game coalesced and are thusly much easier to change. Modding the DLC objectives is a bit trickier but also perfectly possible.
