I don't always fail a mission but when I do its Cerberus Glacier Bronze and I'm probably playing a melee volus.

I see people estimating pretty low failure rates, mostly under 10%. I'm speaking purely personally here, but for me the element of the possibility of failure is part of what makes the game fun and interesting. So a lot of the time I like playing with completely random mixes of pugs and I like using kits that are fragile or underpowered and accepting that some games will fail despite my best scrub efforts.

aka you nat and jugger?

lol probably doesn't matter what map with them. Nuggss sabotages more matches than really failing at them. I've never played with Nat but I'm guessing it would be more of the same.

I heartily endorse this product and/or service.  :D

However, I find the element of the possibility of getting Headshot medals is what makes the game fun and interesting.   :P

Good point, because another fun element is going into a different game with a different goal (or set of goals) to reach. But also with the possibility of failing at reaching that goal, right?

Right, particularly when 'possibility of failing' is a euphemism for 'almost certain probability of failing', as in my case.  Knowing your weaknesses is half the battle on the road to self-improvement.  :D

Agreed. I think the possibility of failure thing is complicated. One might do something where failure is near 100% certain, if one is sure that one will learn. One will also do things that are 100% certain to succeed if they are either necessary, or if one can introduce variety.  (I am 100% likely to succeed at making dinner, but I don't make the same dinner every day, for example.) Conversely, one might try something if the chance of success is only 10%, provided that one can easily repeat the attempt.

TL;DR Play for the struggle, and if the mission fails it means you get to start the next one that much sooner.

When I'm playing a "normal" pug match, I'd say I probably fail around 8-10% of the time.  Besides that though, I do sometimes use a randomizer to pick my character and weapon, which can result in almost guaranteed failure if I don't land in a good team.  (Asari Vanguard with the Spitfire...)

Also, as a few others have mentioned, my performance tends to go downhill (though the chance of victory goes up) when I run into another BSNer.  A combination of assuming that he will do what I am expecting him to (say, cover my back while I make the Praetorian land, only to realize he just left me to deal with the spawn myself while he rescued the pugs), and playing a bit more recklessly than usual because I know that if I go down, he should be able to handle the rest of the wave himself anyways.

It seems I misunderstood the question. My previous post was aimed at Wave 3/6/10 objectives, not actually wiping due to defeat.

I'm not the best player and pugs suck, so maybe 10% of games? I get really stressed when too much pressure is on me, and when it's just one of those games where you get your 15 revives medal early and boom, suddenly it's wave 9 and you're the last one standing 15 seconds in....

When playing with friends the failure rate is pretty close to zero, whilst if you play with pugs all bets are off. With pugs you can easily end up in the situation where if you happen to get instant killed the match is basically over. :(

Lol, just saw this thread. This was a game with me and smeckie and one random. I started out soloing UUG and smeckie joined in without equipment. I think I had most consumables going into ten and two devices bled me dry on that map. Phantoms kept spawning right beside two of the devices after rocketing the bitches.

On topic, I laugh because most of us have high extraction rates on Gold but hell you get devices or hacks IE like the crate of destiny on Hydra or the shitty device on Jade. So yeah I think we all have really good rates of extraction but there are those few times where you're fucked assuming you play non infiltrators or non tank characters.

I think in our case it was/is literally zero.   :D

But then that's probably down to you crutching it with your big Jugg, right?!  :P  ;)

In case anyone takes that seriously, FireRider100 plays the best damn Jugg / PPR you'll ever see.

Fitness won't help you to do a device while something is attacking you. Even a Juggernaut or Worlard is going to get into trouble.

don't pug very much otherwise my smeckies failure rate would probably be much higher that 4-6%.

When I did play I had about 30% win 70% loss. That was because about 90% of my games were masochistic solo attempts that mostly ended in failure :(

That's probably more accurate especially if pugging Plat. I don't give a crap how good a player is there are situations you just cannot overcome.

I had a gold match on Jade with the Drellguard and I had over 270k and devices come up on wave ten. My team was dead before the second device was capped and I just could not get the last device no matter how hard I tried. I don't think I could have played it differently or better and had success. It just was not possible given the device location and where the enemy kept respawning.

Reading this makes me realize how bad I suck. That's probably about my rate when I try with decent characters and guns. There always seems to be one really bad wave that screws me or I get instakilled.
