Usually try to finish everything I can and level up as much as possible. I basically leave Taris with nothing left for me to do. So I'd say about 5-8 hours. Can't remember how long it usually takes to get through Taris though.

Around five hours I would say. Since you reach the level cap before the end of the game anyway, grinding is not really necessary.

I agree grinding isn't necessary, however I do think its fun to go down there and test out some force powers and also roated a few party members

A better opportunity to grind would be the respawning wraids on Tatooine's Dune Sea.

Yes, and going back to dantooine to hunt kath hounds, but as I said it isn't for grinding. Just having some fun with different NPCs :)

I also return to Dantooine and Taris for hunting so I can use different NPCs :)

Tatooine is an interesting place in other respects as well. If you enter the Dune Sea past level 12, instead of the regular sand people ambushes, you will get sand people holy warriors that are a lot tougher.

Indeed, they are pretty tough, if you run into them at the same time that you run by the desert wraids it can be a real challenge. Do you get more XP for killing them?

Probably. It has been so long since I last played Kotor that I don't remember exactly.
