The promotion thing is why I'll never manage it on my PC alt account. Never rebuilding all those characters again.

I was just browsing the leaderboards. Assuming that your calculations are correct (I don't feel up to doing advanced calculus right now), that would mean Red Eileen (she's on Xbox) would have enough CP to have BotB about 40 times

I'd still be interested to know how many people have done BotB on more than one platform, though. There must be some, because it's not possible that a scrub of my lowly level can be the only one.

This topic is making me think of starting the solo challenge on PS3 with Platinum. My new Shaman should be able to handle it fast enough even with super weak manifest. Because I need more street creed among the pugs, and every pug respects the Lone Wolf banner, right?

that banner means to pugs "hey, this guy is going to carry me and I don't need to do anything"
You forgot one thing. It doesn't work on me. I'll wipe intentionally if left playing alone. I just was to assure the pugs that there is at least one competent player on the team if they want to play as a team.

I've had BotB for years but never used it because I don't want people to rely on me. 90% of the time I'm using some weird kit that can't carry, like an infiltrator with Incisor or my barrier bombing Shaman.
Being underestimated is much better and allows me to relax while playing. ^^

As I remember, the challenge was glitched or some would've had that banner wayyyyyy before you did.
I know one true volus that had the thing completed very, very early. And I cannot imagine anyone grinding harder than he did on that challenge.

Whats wrong with an Incisor equipped infiltrator? 6 ranks in cloak and stability mod or barrage gear makes it a very good setup. Puts out great damage and is very accurate. Weighs nothing, either, so you can also equip a shotgun or derpecane if you need something with more burst damage for certain bosses.

I know, I got ~130k just with the Incisor after I joined a game in progress on wave 3. It still wasn't enough to carry wave 10 solo after everyone else had bled out. Perhaps if I hadn't wasted my consumables trying to revive the noobs... eh. I know I would have done much better with a (Black) Widow, Valiant or Javelin. Incisor requires you to be out in the open and/or standing in one place too long, I couldn't kill fast enough and had to move constantly until my luck and last consumables ran out.
Very easy to get headshots with it though.

I'm sure there are, but I don't actually know of any. When I bought an Xbox I kinda assumed I'd go for the banner again, but when the reality of promoting hit me I decided I'll be an N7 120 over there for as long as the game is still playable.
I found doing an Insanity playthrough of both ME2 and ME3 on Xbox was masochism enough, given my personal difficulties with the controller. Man, that Collector Ship in ME2 is tough if you can't land headshots. I made the mistake of doing it with an NG+ character too, which increases the difficulty even more because the enemies are scaled beyond your own upgrades. By comparison, when I played ME3 on Insanity on PS3, the only times I died were either down to the Reaper on Rannoch, or some bloke called Marauder Shields - I think it took me 7 attempts to get past him and his Husk friends, so in some senses the 'final boss battle' in ME3 is strangely appropriate. I'm not wishing to open up any sores for anyone on that subject - just talking about gameplay.
I'm currently playing ME2 as Vanguard with a Geth shotgun and insane melee dmg bonus. You should try that, no headshots required. Just rush in and beat everything to a pulp while you set stuff on fire with incendiary shotgun bursts. ^^

That does sound glorious, and yeah, as it happens I have no Vanguard Shepards at all among my 9 or 10 versions.

sure, its not a Widow, Javelin, Valiant or BW infilitrator but few setups on any kit can get very close to those anyway. It's still quite effective, and I wouldn't compare it to a joke setup like barrier bombing, which I really could see as being difficult to curry with. Its DPS is better than a lot of other similar auto/burst fire weapons like ARs and SMGs and exposes you no longer, especially with the cloak's multiplicative bonus on all but 2 of the infiltrators.

You'd be surprised at how effective the barrier bomber can be under the right circumstances. It almost rivals a AIU in CQC. Your dps goes down dramatically on maps like Rio or Condor though.
Yeah, maybe the Incisor wasn't the best example. I've got a lot of "just for fun" setups though. If I always went with the best and most effective, then I'd limit myself too much.
I've done BotB on PC but I haven't used that banner for once.
After that, I only play on xbox or PC for fun, nothing forces me to grind challenges, and nothing stops me from truly enjoying the game.

Yup Survival Medals challenge from Squad Elite was glitched and was preventing all players from obtaining BOTB banner and when BioWare fixed it I immediately completed a quick bronze game with a 10 wave survived medal in 5 minutes, posted a screenshot of the BOTB banner on BSN and claimed to becoming the 1st person ever to get the BOTB banner. It may sound silly now but at that time being the 1st person to see the BOTB banner outside of BioWare and spoil the surprise for a lot of people was quite a big deal at least for me.
At that time no one even knew what was the secret Mass Effect banner called and I tricked a lot of people with the name reveal who attacked me for claiming something I never claimed instead of congratulating me for getting the BOTB banner.
