I have tried searching for this problem and for the life of me can not come up with any terms to describe it. Instead of trying that, I will just post a screen shot of my issue. This may be caused by Eyefinity (got to love disappearing trees) but I'm not totally sure.

There is this problem where objects behind the characters in cutscenes distort the character. It looks god awful and is extremely distracting. Is there any fix for this or is it just something I have to live with, like the disappearing foliage?

Here is an image of a man with stalagmites behind him, however they are distorting his face to the extreme.

looks like a shader problem.. perhaps forcing low settings could help?

Go to \\My Documents\\bioware\\dragon age\\settings\\dragonage.ini

look for..

EnableShadows=1

EnableFrameBufferEffects=1

ForceLowSettings=0

Change Frame & Shadows to 0, then Force to 1.

See if that makes a diffrence, and i'm guessing you've already tried all the visible settings ingame.

It COULD be a problem with your drivers as well, i'd try some older/newer, see if that works.

Thou, perhaps disabling eyefinity, to see if that's the problem, would be something to try first.

K, thank you. I will try all of your suggestions, and hopefully catalyst version 10.1 will come out today. Getting sick of driver issues ><

It is eyefinity, ugh such a shame.... Every game is so frustratingly incompatible with surround resolutions. Either the HUD is stretched, or the menu is zoomed, or there are artifacts on screen, or the game is vert- alltogether. /sigh.... i could go on for days....
