I think it's also important when considering Sten's opinion about a female Warden, that Sten does acknowledge that other cultures do have other opinions as to gender roles.  He knows that, for Fereldens (or whoever), it's possible to consider oneself both a woman and a fighter.  It's just that those opinions are wrong (at least as far as Sten is concerned).  He's not a Tamassran, he's not there to explain the finer details of why a woman warrior must not be allowed, he's just giving the short version (because the short version is what he prefers in most cases anyway).

It's also important to note, I think that a female Warden, and, for that matter, Krem, are essentially Viddathari (maybe they aren't yet, but from the Qunari perspective, they will be when the Qun "inevitably" conquers the south), and the Qunari aren't big on wasting resources.  If someone's talents lie in fighting, it's easier to treat the converts as culturally male then to try and teach them entirely new skills.  However, for those born into the Qun, I would suspect the Tamassrans simply don't give them a chance to develop or learn any skills that don't fit their birth-assigned gender roles.

A Dalish Inquisitor asking who the elven gods are is number one for me, but that's already been discussed, so...

The "this ends here, Corypheus" line before the final battle always bugged me.  The way the american female voice says it just sounds absurd in the context of a final showdown.  It sounds more like she's a little girl about to tell the teacher that Corypheus is being mean or something. I don't know why it seems like that to me, but it does.

Almost worse is the decision in the Fade about who will stay behind.  Why does anybody have to stay behind? Because Hawke and the Warden have really big egos?

have moments like the choice at the end of Here Lies the Abyss where you're thrusting the narrative disconnect between the PC and the player to the forefront. My Inquisitor barely knew Alistair or Loghain or Stroud or Hawke, so in game, he didn't really care about that choice. Yet as a player there were things my Warden would have liked to say to those characters since my Warden had some history with Loghain or Alistair. Its that disconnect between the player's knowledge and feelings versus those options available to the PC that bug me.

Part of the reason I prefer a single protagonist over multiple games.

*shrug*

Hawke and Stroud: Leave me behind to fight the giant fear fade spider demon thing!

Me: No. Seriously.  I've got this.  You and Captain Moustache jump through the rift.  No?  Okay, FINE.  Hawke, I think it's stupid you showed up for this quest to begin with - you should be sipping margaritas with Merrill and Isabela on a beach somewhere - but I'm not breaking Varric's heart like that.

*go back through the rift and decide to send the Wardens back*

Hawke: "Well, say goodbye to Varric for me."

And wanders off.  Without another thought for stopping Corypheus or checking in with her old friends and family.

WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?
