Moments like these make you wonder if Bioware even has Play Testers, sigh... Who could miss these things?

I've heard that one of Bioware's playtesters said that the people in charge just don't listen to them. That hasn't been confirmed, but I don't doubt it. I mean, they didn't even think that women wouldn't like being forced to have sideburns? Really?

The time rift has green circles that speed up or slow down characters in them. Though this is far from obvious if your natural response to circles on the ground is just to steer clear.

Also, it's not past Redcliffe, it's alternate Redcliffe.

They did? I never actually experienced that part of it...

Even if it were true, it would not surprise me.

Aside from the side-burns it begs me to wonder why the developers thought the hairstyles for women, along with the look of most arms and armor was considered something female players would like.

Hell, I played Pillars of Eternity and while it does not have much of a character creation screen, the hairstyles are FAR better.

They did? I never actually experienced that part of it...

Yes, they did. Anytime you encounter a Time Rift, there will be green circles on the ground. IMO pointless to use.

Yeah! Why couldn't they have just recorded a second line? I mean, it sounds so alien when he says it 2 seconds later in the exact same way.

Haha, "satisfying" was about the last thing it was for me.

I thought Origins established that you couldn't use magic for fast movement either (I guess barring things like Haste?). But then they added Eluvians in DA:O DLC, so... that lore was short-lived.

Actually magic can be used for fast movement the mad hermit may be a good example, however magic cannot be used for teleportation, well it seems that now we are beyond, with Eluvians and time travel.
DA lore is too contrived for my taste.

Solas giving orb to Cory, why not just go directly to Mythal and ask to open it.

Multiple potential reasons for this one, I think. He may have attempted to, but have made the attempt while she was in limbo before Hawke used the amulet. He may have legitimately believed her dead or been unable to find her, and could only track her down at the end due to encountering her in some form at the well. Mythal, being a shred of what she originally was, may not have been powerful enough either. She may have been unwilling. It may be something else entiely (probably this, heh). But it's hard to pin reasons down without knowing the circumstances of what actually happened. So I wouldn't call this a writing flub - yet. Just another mystery. *shrugs*

Doesn't Solas sort of mutter to himself "So, Mythal yet lives" if you take him to the temple? I don't remember, but if he does, that supports your theory that he didn't know she was alive at first.

As soon as you arrive at the Well of Sorrows.

Inquisitor: "The Well of Sorrows."

Solas: "So Mythal endures."

Thank you! That would imply he didn't know she was still around at the beginning of the game.

After Banshee mentioned that I had half a mind to play through the level myself and see, but I don't have a savefile near it and ehhhh? XD

Demands of the Qun has to be the weakest of the personal quests. I can get trying to add some kind of tension by making such a critical decision but I definitely thought it was kinda arbitrary seeing how I could solo High dragons with Viv alone. A few Vint mages? Blah. There still could've also have been consequences seeing how he'd still gone against the Qun in the first place. I think they at least should've added additional prerequisites to at least make the conflict seem harder than it actually was. Sorta like how they did with Sera's quest where you could use the Nobility knowledge perk - or if you were a human noble, your rep - to your benefit. I thought those implementations were great.

In the amount time it takes for them to stop talking and make a decision of who's staying, they could have all run into the portal!

Apologies if this has been mentioned already but the biggest writing oversight I've noticed is right at the very end of the game.

You are fresh back from the Arbor Wilds and Corypheus reopens the Breach... how did he pull that off, exactly? I didn't think tearing open the Veil all over again would be so easy. Even with the artifact, it required a blood sacrifice the first time.

I really enjoyed the story of DAI on the whole but this moment really bothered me, particularly because it took a lot of momentum out of the Corypheus fight.

I think the ritual was for powering the Anchor, not opening the Breach, so he might be able to do that whenever he wants. I would imagine the significantly weakened veil at the original Breach helped too.

The time rift has green circles that speed up or slow down characters in them. Though this is far from obvious if your natural response to circles on the ground is just to steer clear.

The circles that speed up time are yellow.

It can be fun to move your ranged characters to the yellow circles (it's not really useful for melee, since the circles affect enemies too).

All the rifts in the In Hushed Whispers quest have the time distortions IIRC (I know they're there for the Alexius fight).

I've been wondering about that, thanks.  It really didn't seem any different than the others, but with a mage or ranged PC, it wouldn't.  Even with a warrior or DWR, I'm usually using so many CCCs and AOEs, I'd likely miss it.

This isn't really a writing oversight, just a dialog quirk that piques my interest.  Frequently, when you're talking to companions, a line of dialog will be followed by a sound from the start of the next line.  Were lines of dialog dropped?  What were they supposed to be?  We may never know - what a horror!  Or is it just that the voice actor gets a whole bunch of lines to read and they crop and paste the files into the game at the appropriate moments, and sometimes the edit isn't perfect, like a radio station playing the first notes of the next song on the record before the DJ chimes in and switches on the mic.

That's really weird. I've never noticed that, and I doubt they used different files for different platforms. Either my hearing needs to be checked, or maybe your game is glitching a bit.

It's probably a glitch rather than a bug, but I don't like how I have contacts to smuggle lyrium for me so that I can be discrete when getting lyrium from the templars/mages, and yet Josephine goes and buys lyrium, which gets the attention of the Chantry even though it was she who said the smuggling would be a good idea since it wouldn't draw attention. And yes, I am aware that was a long sentence.

1) You answer her call, so she called out to you because you were the someone who answered

2) You can say that. "Funny, considering the Inquisition was started by the left and right hands of the Divine"

I think he trys to rebuff it, but i can't remember what he said. Though they say the writ from the Divine "grants them the authority to act". They could show him, but he's determined to be a pain. Haven isn't even his, as Josie says.

The casual "what's going on here?" is the only thing i am even slightly bothere by, more so because later you get a more gruff "what's going on here?"

well personally it did bother me but you learn the fear demon took away your memories right? that vision is just an echo so I think it's, if only slightly, justified. It does still bother me a little on every playthrough tho >.>

Thought of another to toss in this thread.

After defeating Cory you arrive back at Skyhold.

Lilly pulls you aside and says, "You said he was upset about the orb."

Um.

What?

For starters I'd like to know how Lilly knew to send scouts out to look for Solas. Secondly The Inquisitor just arrived back at Skyhold and did not mention Solas being upset because he/she was too busy being welcomed.

It's possible for the first one The Inquisitor asked the scouts to look for Solas before leaving The Temple.

However that would take time for them to find out Solas's trail has gone cold. Also it would take time for the message to reach Skyhold even by bird.

Bah!

As it's been said, the sacrifice was to power up the ORB, not open the Breach. Once the Orb was awake, the power was accessible to open and close the Breach. In fact, opening it a second time would be easier since the wound is new and the Veil is still weak.

I'm going to go with a few others and agree with most of what happened with the Dalish Elf portion of the game.  Yes, there were a few things that went right.  However, when your clan accidentally gets slaughtered (happened my first time), no reaction.  Morrigan explaining to a Dalish Mage (the Keepers First, mind you) might have gone over except that the Dalish seems utterly clueless as to what's going on.  They couldn't have added a few lines where the First agreed or acknowledged this information correctly?  Or did their Keeper REALLY drop the ball on that one?  I get it where Morrigan would have that information, that's not out of place at all.  She's shrewd, and intelligent, but a First should know that stuff too.  Even a Human Mage might know some of it.  Being a mage in a tower means 'bookworm'.  You'd think they'd know who Mythal is.  The Dalish SHOULD know, even a Hunter.  Why else would they have those statues around their camps?  This one is...irksome.

The foci (the orb Corypheus uses) ripped open the breach. Remember all you did was use the anchor to slap a bandaid over it. Foci > anchor when it comes to messing with the breach.
